Spent 2 days here towards the end of Dec 2012 on a trek to see the fabled mountain gorillas. The drive to get to the lodge is difficult and treacherous but once u get to the small, cozy lodge its pure relaxation. The views of the mountains are breathtaking and the service is one of the warmest we've experienced!!! The... More

Went up here for a drink one evening. Very friendly staff and an absolutely fantastic view - wish we'd come up a bit earlier in the evening and seen the sunset. Didn't get to see any rooms so cannot comment on this.

After a pretty horific experience in Entebbe, we weren't expecting great things from hotels across Uganda even though we'd selected the 'luxury' option with our tour company. Arriving at the Silverback Lodge was an experience as the car wouldn't get up the hill so we walked the last stretch in the heat whilst some local lads pushed the car up... More

Staff and manager are just lovely and ever so accommodating to make ur stay relaxing and enjoyable. Room s are a bit dated but still extremely clean and comfy no complaints. The view is amazing. We also had the best packed lunch out of everyone on our gorilla trek of all the lodges. Apparently they are renovating early 2013 so... More

After a long drive from entebbe we were pleasantly surprised upon arriving at silverback. The staff are what makes this lodge, all smiles and ever so accommodating. Make a lot of the staff we have encountered in 4 star hotels look like a bunch of grumpy armatures! The lodge is a credit to the manager and we would highly recommend... More

The lodge is over priced for what it is... The food is average as well. But don't get me wrong: However the staff tries very hard and most importantly the view is wonderful... Somewhere on the opposite side of the valley the Rushegura gorillas family is there, maybe looking at you while you're sipping on this glass of wine waiting... More

We do apologise that you did not feel your stay with us was value for money but if one were to compare the available accommodation in Bwindi apples for apples we are priced competitively. Nevertheless we do sincerely apologise that the stay did not meet up to your expectation due to the pricing and we shall endeavour and strive to... More

We stayed for 2 nights at this lodge. We had no previous reservation, just showed up during our self drive trip and enquired about accomodation. We were warmly greeted, the manager showed us around and then gave us time to decide. We opted for the fullboard mealplan and did not regret it. Service in the restaurant was way above what... More

We spent two days at Silverback Lodge. We were warmly greeted by the staff, especially Mordecai, who seems to be the house manager. The lodge is situated near the top of a hill and affords an excellent view of the surrounding forest. It was especially beautiful at night and Mordecai pointed out the Southern Cross to us northern hemispherians and... More

We stayed at the Silverback lodge for two nights while doing some gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The lodge is located just minutes from the gate to the National Park where the gorilla tracking starts, and has stunning views over the forest. Note the lodge is suitable for those with gorilla permits for one of the Buhoma gorilla families.... More

Stunning view - from the very top of the valley. We could see hill after hill and the moon was full! Magic. We were 4 friends staying two nights after a long car ride through a big part of Uganda. We enjoyed a warm welcome by the friendly staff, we enjoyed the smiley and people that looked after us when... More
