Parts of the hotel have seen better days. The main hotel was built in the 70s and although clean, it needs updating. But the new section is exquisite and totally separate from the main building. Our two room suite overlooked the gulf and the mountains and town, and the terrace was huge. We could open all of the sliding doors... more

This hotel has two parts, the renovated and unrenovated. Booking through Leading Hotels, and paying rack rate, we were upgraded to a suite (without pool) in the new wing. Wow! You are in a stone, wood and glass historical, centuries old fortress, with an amazing sea view, overlooking a charming town (the old part with Venetian influence). We had a... more

We ended a 10 day tour of Greece with two nights in the Napflia Palace. We had a new bungalow overlooking the harbor and the room was beautiful. It took forever to figure how to work the shower, the shades and the lights because of the over-technified amenities. The swimming pools were beautiful and ideally located, but it was hard... more

We had one of the new apartments, a lovely 2-bed with a huge balcony looking down over the infinity pool down to the town. The rooms are pretty high tech with so many switches that turning the lights out at night was a challenge. Bathrooms were well-equipped with the shower room doubling as a steam room. We used the restaurant,... more

Basically , the rooms advertised on the internet represent a small number of actual rooms in the hotel that have been renovated. In the main area of the hotel, the rooms are run down with stains on the wall and carpet, mold in the bathroom and hallways, and worn out equipment from the 60s including tvs i have not seen... more

Stayed at Amphytrion , the sister hotel to Nafplia Palace also in Nafplia. Amphytrion is very good but as there is no pool you are able to use the pool at Nafplia Palace hotel. DO NOT BOTHER> It was very dirty with algae growing in the pool. THE AREA AROUND THE POOL WAS VERY SHABBY. The hotel looks very run... more

After reading previous critical reviews of the Nafplia Palace we approached our holiday wth some trepidation, however we left having enjoyed a wonderful holiday and wondering what all the fuss was about. The hotel is frequented by many holidaymakers from Athens who were clearly satisfied like us. The hotel has a spacious and welcoming feel with an interesting 1970s decor... more

DO NOT BOOK IN THE MAIN BUILDING of Nafplia palace "Hotel and Villas"!!! First of all, the hotel is supposed to be a 5* resort, which is not, by far! I would barely rate it as a 3* hotel. It is a 3 stories bulding, with 54 rooms. The whole main building is really old, with dated furniture in the... more

One travels to Greece to see ruins, but not to stay at them. The Nafplia Palace is a four hundred-plus Euro per-night resort hotel, perched on a beautiful location above the charming Peleponnesian city of Nafplia. Its website and brochure present a terrific image of luxury, and it's listed as one of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, with... more
