I recently stayed in Horse & Jockey Hotel with my sisters. I can honestly say it was a wonderful experience. I was very impressed with the quality of the rooms, which are very luxurious very comfortable beds with lovely linen, bathrooms had top of the range toiletries which we girls do appreciate. I loved the glass bottled water which was... more

The room was fine, clean and everything in order and the food was quite nice. The pool area is pretty good too. But somehow this hotel was a let down. There is nothing to do in the area, apart from the leisure center and it is 10 km outside Thurles town so it feels rather like it was built in... more

Had a great week. Great food, excellent leisure centre, swimming pool and gym. State-of-the-art conference rooms. Wireless broadband in all bedrooms. Highly recommended. more

Having just read your review I was happy to hear that you mostly enjoyed your stay and though much ot the rooms and facilities. As you righlly state we 10 km from Thurles in a small rural village in fact not even a town. Many of our regulars find this part of our charn and a welcome break from the cities....

If you have small kids with you do not go near this place. they have one broken highchair only o serve both the pub and the restaurant. Service is soooo bad we were waiting over half an hour for our main course to be cleared. then we decided to leave. When we went to pay and complain they could not... more

I was disappointed to read your review. You were obviously treated indifferently by a member of staff and for this I apologise. We have many baby chairs but they must have been occupied in the bar area at the time. It is difficult to see how you evaluated the bedrooms as we have no details of your stay with us.We would be...

I have mixed experiences of the hotel. I stayed there with my mother, having booked in advance as we were supporting my father, boyfriend and a friend doing a charity bike ride from Malin Head to Mizen Head - they were originally booked into another hotel but decided to cancel this at the last minute and stay at the same... more

For the weary business person, on the road this is a very nice place to stay. Great rooms, firiendly staff and reasonable food. Service was perfect. This was the third hotel that I stayed at in Ireand this week. The first 2 were in the Dublin area. This is much cheaper, much friendler, much cosier. All in all by far... more

I stayed in this hotel recently on a business trip and overall I was very impressed with the standard. The meeting room we used was very comfortable and well set up. We had a business dinner that evening in the hotel restaurant and it was also lovely. My only, and big, problem with the hotel is the sixe of the... more

I stayed at the Horse and Jockey in September for the Feile Fidelma, a weekend convention to celebrate the Sister Fidelma mysteries. My room was spacious and colorful, the bathroom was spacious. Our sessions were in a conference room, the theater, and our banquet was in a dining room. The banquet room was the only thing I had a problem... more

I just want to say what a warm welcome we received when we stayed at the horse and jockey this weekend. After a few days in northern ireland with my wife and kids, we were driving to cork and stopped to break up the journey. What a godsend to cheer up the cranky family? We had a meal which was... more
