We have just returned from our annual break at the Inver Lodge. We fell in love with the hotel, the area and the people twenty years ago and just kept on coming back. In this we are not alone as each time we arrive there are many familiar faces who love the place as much as we do. What makes... more

We were delighted with this hotel. We agree with other reviewers that the hotel does not look marvellous from the outside. This purpose built 20 roomed hotel does look slightly dated as are the rooms, but the service and food are excellent. The rooms are very comfortable - bathrobes, both desks and dressing tables, candles, fresh fruit etc., and well... more

From the minute we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. The hotel was as described and we had a lovely view of the harbour from our room, which was very spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful without being overbearing. Evening meals and breakfast were very tasty with a good selection. We stayed for almost a week... more

We loved our experience at the Inver Lodge. From the moment we entered we were made to feel welcome. It's a very spacious place - purpose built to take advantage of the fabulous views around the bay. Every room has these views. Ours was bright and very tastefully decorated with big picture windows and the most comfortable beds. There was... more

My wife and I arrived in Lochinver hoping to find a beautiful, quiet, remote, area where we could hill walk and relax while staying in a comfortable hotel. We found all of the above in abundance. The biggest surprise for us however, was the food. Head chef Peter Cullen and 2nd chef Zara McDougal persented some of the best food... more

Beautiful situation atop a hill overlooking the bay of Lochinver. Well appointed, spacious and comfortable rooms with excellent view over harbour - this was once a beautiful little harbour but has unfortunately lost its charm through insensitive development to cater for what was once a thriving fishing industry. Staff excellent. On the night we ate dinner at the hotel we... more

I have travelled far and wide in the past 40 years and right on my doorstep is this superb, what should be in my opinion, five star lodge. Listed as a four star with two rosettes certainly meets the standards of the most discerning guest . The best service, exquisite cuisine and the professionalism of Nicholas Gorton. The staff are... more

This is an excellent hotel in a beautiful location high above Lochinver. It was built about 20 years ago and as far as I am aware it is the only 4/5 star contemporary hotel in that part of Scotland with such a good reputation that can cater for people whatever their needs. It may not look particularly special from the... more

This is REALLY the Highlands. Hotel is on a hill. Spectacular views from room heather, rocks and bay and from other side, from corridor, of the mountains. Hotel is very modern and rooms like large, well equipped motel rooms. Very comfortable, bathroom with all amenities. The staff is warm and welcoming. It was cold, windy and wet during our stay... more

I am a world traveler, for 35 years and have and have been fortunate to have stayed in some of the best hotels in this world, including the luxurous Corinthia Hotel in Tripoli, curtousy of the company I am employed by. The Inver Lodge Hotel is by far a favourite for the quality of the food and the freindly staff.... more
