Leaving Thurso and heading west on a tour of the coastline we decided to stop for lunch at the Ben Loyal Hotel, Tongue after hearing some good reviews about it. A delightful traditional hotel with old fashioned courtesy. There are wonderful panoramic views over the Kyle of Tongue and the ruins of Castle Varrich as you dine in the restaurant.
