We visited the Craggan Hotel - Melness on our trip round the North of Scotland and I must say this was the best place we ate. The staff (kate i think her name was?) was very friendly and informative on local history. We were presented with a fantastic meal, something which we would have expected in London not the North... more

We did not stay at this hotel, but called in for a meal, having had it recommended by fellow travellers. On arrival, the resauarant seemed very nice, with well laid tables, nicely decorated. Among the spectacular scenery of north west Scotland lies a wonderful surprise of sincere and warm hospitality led by Kate and staff at the Craggan Hotel on the Kyle of Tongue. This coupled with delicious food lends itself to a relaxing, comfortable and an affordable stay. Since our return to Australia, we have recommended this place to many. more

We live locally in Bettyhill (moved here recently) we had been told about the food here, so tried one of their themed evenings, it was fabulous and really good value for money, you were made feel welcome, and we will certainly be using it on a more regular basis more

Its unusual to find a place that has so many interesting dishes on the menu with a good range of meat and seafood. The mussels in white wine, herbs, with a grated... more

Located in Melness, just off the main road linking Durness and John O'Groats is the Craggan Hotel which was recommended to us by local residents as it continually provides at all times of the day, excellent meals in its restaurant and at very reasonable prices. Judging from the comments by a number of local residents it is a hidden gem... more
