At home away from home, this is how I and my family felt when spending three days at Algonquin Eco-lodge this summer. Situated on a small lake and surrounded by a dense forest, the lodge is a perfect place to spend a peaceful holiday. We liked the fact that there was no telephone signal available at the lodge. Since there... more

The 2.3 km walk into this lovely lodge is quite the hike but its totally worth it, as you come up the hill and see where you are staying it takes your breath away. The staff is so friendly and greets you at the door with water and snacks, Eva was our Jack of all trades, if you will, cooked... more

We stayed at the Ecolodge for a couple of days before going on a camping and canoeing trip in Algonquin. It was a good way to wind down from city life in Ottawa and a stepping stone between the Holiday Inn and a tent......Our children loved the lake, the hammocks and the bonfire & marshmallows. The food served at breakfast... more

The place was great for someone who wants to explore the outdoors without having to put up a tent. the lodge had its own private lake which I took full advantage of and the scenery was amazing. the people were great and the food was home cooked which you can never get at a hotel. Robin the owner was very... more

What a great service and guidence into the wilderness i Canada. A perfect place for small and larger groups, to get away from civilization and back to nature. A perfect place to feel your self. Robin, the president of the place, provides hospitality and respects the guests wishes. Guides you well around in canoes and hiking. A very good lodge,... more

Perfect escape from the noise of most camp sites, hiking into the lodge also separates those who wish for an authentic Canadian outdoor experience from those who need absurd amenities in nature. Home cooked meals without the institutional after taste of most restaurant foods. Beds are cozy. No motor boats or loud water toys a blessing. more

We have stayed at Algonquin Eco-Lodge twice, once in March and once in August. Both times were absolutley memorable. In many ways I prefer it to more expensive spa type get aways. There is no electricity in the lodge making it very quiet and cozy, especially in the winter. People eat together in the lodge and it is an opportunity... more

This place is great... A lodge that backs onto Crown lands as well as Algonquin Park, means complete isolation. There are no outside visitors to be seen, none on any of the trails, none in the lake. No campfires at night visible from other sites, no obtrusive noises from nearby neighbours. This was a great place for my wife and... more

Wow! This is a great place. Ok, it takes a couple of hours driving from Toronto or Montreal, but it’s totally worth it. The lodge is quite secluded in Algonquin Park and you won’t find any other lodges or other forms of accommodation around. The location on a little lake is quite splendid and means that you can get on... more

I do not understand all of the negative reviews for the eco lodge. We received this trip as a wedding gift from my husband's siblings and we absolutely loved it! We go tent camping quite regularly in Algonquin and this was a nice change. I don't understand why people are disapointed about the lack of electricity and plain accomodations. If... more
