A great spa to rest and restore your body and mind. The service is 5 stars. Hot mineral baths abound on this expansive property. The massage was the best. We had the green mud massage with Desiey. We came out glowing pink. The Inca Altawapa was know for loving these mineral baths. Now you can too. The restaurant here so so. Recommend going to restaurant just out front gate - walking distance There peruvian grill “ churrasqueria” cuisine is very good.

I was volunteering in Cajamarca for two weeks with another girl from the states, and it was suggested by our volunteer coordinator to check out Laguna Seca rather than Banos del Inca- which although cheap, can get REALLY crowded since it's a very popular tourist spot in Cajamarca/Banos. Compared to spa prices in the states, this is a STEAL! For $57 USD we each had three hours worth of services including: sauna, outdoor thermal pools, herbal jacuzzi with floating flowers, 45min total body massage including foot reflexology and mini facial. We got nice thick robes, towels, slippers, a private changing room with a nice hot shower (honestly- just to have such a nice hot shower after two weeks of cold showers volunteering was so exciting), bottled water, and some kind of fresh-squeezed lemonade juice that was delicious and refreshing. Again- all for less than $60. Banos in town is very iconic and affordable, but if you don't mind spending the extra money- go to this beautiful property and treat yourself. Tip: We weren't staying in the rooms so we had to book our spa treatments separately over the phone the day before. Knowing to speak Spanish somewhat well will help you booking over the phone. I'd recommend booking at least the day before to guarantee a time slot, and not just showing up.

My wife and I traveled to Cajamarca to see some old friends and enjoy beautiful landscapes and climate, and decided before leaving to go to Laguna Seca. We had a wonderful experience, bathing and swimming in a pool of thermal waters (luxury!), going to a dry sauna with aromatic eucalyptus leaves...and ended having a hot mud (therapeutic!) massage and thermal water jacuzzi in the same room. Enjoyable, relaxing and...perfect end to our work-vacation trip!

We spent two nights here in a double suite. We had a large room and bathroom with a large tub. Plenty of hot water. If anything the hot water was too hot. Free wifi in the room. Hotel is quiet. The staff are delightful and really welcoming. The hotel is on the edge of town but fortunately has a decent restaurant with an extensive, reasonably priced menu. This area of town benefits from geothermal waters so there and there is a free hot water pool and spa treatments are available. The reason why I would not give this hotel five stars is that it needs updating.

Our room was quite small and cramped but we had a wonderful, huge bathroom with a sunken bath almost big enough to accommodate a football team! Large grounds, three pools, spa, stables, mini-zoo, restaurant, bar, cafe and conference centre. In the reception area there was a large water dispenser, just to the left of the coca tea, where we could fill our water bottles. A buffet breakfast was served in the separate cafe building which was perfectly adequate. However, the main restaurant, El Fogon, was fabulous and the food really was superb. Every meal we had there was excellent and of a very high standard. We also had the best cocktails ever in the bar. After having a particularly exceptional Margarita and Caipirinha on our first night, made by the head barman/waiter, Segundo, we decided to put him to the test over the next few days by trying lots of different cocktails, all of which were consistently superb. Segundo makes the best cocktails we have ever had, especially the Margarita and Mojito, and deserves a special mention. We spent a few hours one day exploring Cajamarca and after only a few hours we were happy to escape from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets back to the peace and tranquility of Laguna Seca. We were glad we weren't staying in the city. It was a tad cool at night and some rooms had an electric heater (ours didn't). We wondered why, being as the property benefits from thermal water, they don't utilise this to heat the rooms at night? We really enjoyed our stay here, the staff were friendly, attentive and professional. We would recommend this hotel.

Rooms are nice but kind of empty, some decoration would be welcome. There is a faint aroma of fish which I thought was strange. Bad water pressure. The hot springs were spectacular. The worst food I’ve had in a long time though.

Really nice place, quite and beautiful! Has direct access to thermal waters. It was one of the best experiences. Highly recommended for relaxing and being close to nature in a very nice place. The restaurant was nice and they have spa where you can get relaxing massage.

Stayed two romantic nights on a tour around beautiful northern Peru. The old hacienda is a 10 minute drive from Cajamarca, but a world of its own: It sits on a generous plot of land, has a small zoo with rabbits, chicken, geese, peacock, alpacas and a bunch of decent looking horses. Wide variety of trees and floors invites you to stroll the gardens between the various thermal pools and ponds. The buildings are past century but well kept, there is a cafeteria and a restaurant on site and while breakfast buffet is ok, dinners were delicious and the menu is huge. Decent wine list. The rooms seem to come in 3 categories: room, executives and suites. We stayed in a spacious executive room: minibar in entrance, with small table and 2 armchairs, flat tv on rolling table, small cupboard with 6 hangers, 4 drawers and some racks, desks against wall with light and aircon above it. Two single beds with a shared night table that also holds the phone and a lamp. Mattresses good, linen very nice, heavy cover as at night it does get close to 0 C and no heating. Giant bathroom with loo, tiny sink with generous space to hold you utensils, giant shower/in floor bathtub that you can fill with thermal waters. Cleenex, shampoos and conditioner but neither shower cap nor gel. On day one you get one bottle (600ml) still water to brush your teeth (between 2 guests) and it is ever replaced. You do have soft and thick towels but are supposed to use them in pool and bathroom- avaricious by my terms. I liked the bathrobe and slippers per pax but you have to see how to get them dry again if you preferred keeping your towels for bathroom use only. Anti stress massage is like 30 minutes plus relax period, but at PEN 133 one should not moan, and the lady finds your sweet spots. Nice from reception: mate de coca en la hoja, which is a pain relief for all who suffer like me from altitude sickness. All in: at this price and heavenly premises the only draw down is that you have to bring your own water or pay 3,50 for a bottle that costs 1-2 elsewhere. Sure recommendation!

Located in the suburbs of the city, this hotel is known for its thermal baths and zoo. Very quiet place, very friendly and smiling staff, the breakfast OK but no hot meals proposed. If you wanted some scrambled eggs or an omelette, you needed to pre-order or order on site and wait, what is disappointing if you are in a hurry or have a visit scheduled. No real drama at the end. Good coffee. The rooms need to be upgraded: no isolated doors nor windows, old furniture and decor and limit lightning. Everything clean though. The thermal baths are a very nice detail that most visitors will appreciate, but a general upgrade is needed to improve clients fidelity.

This is a historic hotel with unique and the only available direct access to local hot springs water. Built many years ago, it has fallen into dis repair at the hands of absentee owner in Germany who fails to invest in basic amenities. Fundamentally they fail to appreciate their target market which should be high end tourist market. A real disservice to local community. Unreliable show wi fi from 2-3 star rooms with 1970s televisions and outdated bathrooms. Well meaning staff which struggles with visitors having higher expectations. Unbelievable potential in the hands of professional management with adequate capital. It’s sort of sad.
