***Warning, long but well worth the read!*** I was able to book this hotel last minute just before the holiday weekend. The res. clerk was friendly, helpful and sold me her last room. I was a bit hesitant to stay at a Best Western because a lot of them are usually run down in the cities I have passed through,... more

I've stayed here around the holidays for six or seven straight years, and have finally had enough. Terrific location, but.......it's massively overpriced, and the remarkably poor quality of necessities like sheets, towels and toilet paper tells me that ownership really doesn't care about customer satisfaction. The last straw was when they insisted on charging me at check-out for a dinner... more

Guest reviews help our staff to understand the concerns of our guests. Our rates are a little higher during peak season. So if you are looking for a great rate call our hotel directly. Our reservationists can give you information on great rates including our popular Romance and Adventure Packages. Available from April 1st until mid November.

those are the last words you want to hear when you are taking family out and expecting to have great time. Yet, it happened!! So, if you still want to book here, make sure twice before leaving, they still have your reservation!! more

Many times when booking reservations online, computers glitch and the reservation does not go through completely. I recommend that all guests call and confirm their reservation before arriving at their destination. Best Western International guarantees all confirmed reservations.

Best Western Big Bear Chateau New Year's Eve Party Event treated families with children like second-class citizens while exhibiting a complete disregard and intolerance in their business practices! This is what happened: After calling the hotel restaurant to inquire into the 2007/2008 New Year's Eve Party, I made a reservation for my spouse, minor son, and me to attend the... more

This guest comment concerns a New Year’s Eve Party that was originally intended for 21 years and older crowd. Alcohol was to be served and by state law children are not allowed at such an event. This guest complained that her children could not attend, so Mr. Lee, wanting everyone to be satisfied and decided to open a Family room...

The view and accessibility to other places was the only thing this hotel had going for it. I was so unhappy with my room. The lobby is gorgeous but deceiving. The room was cramped and small. In front of our blacony was a table and 2 chairs crammed into the room that totally blocked access. The TV was on a... more

Our armoires are all shipped from Europe and are true antiques. All rooms have gas fireplaces which can only add to each guest room ambiance. From the Griddle on our menu reads Chateau Champion, two eggs any style, two buttermilk pancakes and choice of two slices of bacon or sausage for $8.95; gratuity is added when room service is ordered....

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. We went up for the Memorial Day weekend, and arrived hours before our check-in time. We were exhausted from the ride up and were thrilled when the hotel staff worked with us on getting us checked in hours early. The hotel itself is a little older, but having stayed in a few places... more

Me and my husband decided to go on an unexpected winter drive to Big Bear Lake, CA. We saw the Best Western off of Moonridge Road and saw a european style chateau. We decided to stay the night cause it was getting late and had dinner in the restaurant. Overall, we had a great time and the staff was very... more

Let's start of with good points. If you are looking for location, this place is a great place to stay. It is right down the street from Bear Mountain. Sorry to say that is the only good point. Customer service is no where to be seen. I requested a few more pillows and no one brought them up. The coffee... more

We should of guessed there might be some service issues when we called the hotel 3 times and the phone didn't answer. When were finally did get through we were directed to call the BW central reservations number because we were told there was not anyone availbable at the hotel to take our reservations. When we arrived at the hotel... more

This hotel is great The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and have balconies. They allow pets, which is great if you travel with two dogs like my wife and I do. The staff is friendly. There is a restaurant and a bar on-site with karaoke on Saturday nights (even though only about a half-dozen people show up). Best of all, it's... more
