Bishop has been a problem town for us to find a good place to stay. We've tried Creek Side Inn, Comfort Inn, Vagabond, The Trees...they each had problems. This time, however, we struck gold when we found The Elms. Located off the main street, this is a 1940's motel that has been updated and perfectly maintained. The manager told us... More

This motel smelled bad, the room was very close, dark and stuffy. The box springs had holes and the linen seemed like it was from someone's Grandmother's closet. The carpet was dirty. It looked like it hadn't been updated since the cowboy days. To top it off, a group of people decided to have a party on the lawn outside... More

I have stayed in several hotels here as my husband and I use Bishop as a cheap base for boarding Mammoth, but I have never found a hotel that I wanted to return to. We are definitely coming back! It is a great value. 47$ including tax. The room is small but the heater was running when we arrived which... More

If you need an affordable, decent, clean place to stay in Bishop, this is it. Everything you need, like, fast food, tourist information, gasoline, bank, is right there! We stayed in Bishop in order to be in a big-enough town to purchase Thanksgiving items (i.g. smoked chicken from Mahogany Smoked Meats) for our camping trip in Saline Valley, southwest in... More

From the outside the cottage style rooms looked charming. Inside they were rundown and depressing, with little touches like only one stirrer and 2 sugars put out for the coffee maker. But what frightened me when I settled in for the night was that there was no phone in the room, and my cell phone was out of range. This... More

This is an older cottage style motel off the Hwy. It's close enough to walk to restaurants but far enough to be restful. Friendly owner Ramila gave me a really decent price considering it was summer rate time. The room was comfortable but could have had better pillows on the bed. Considering the age of this motel it is well... More

We stayed here for a week whilst we climbed peaks in the nearby Sierra Nevada and White Mountain ranges. Its off the main drag, which means its quiet. Was always clean. Coffee machine in rooms, aircon & TV as usual, comfy beds. Breakfast provided to set you up for your day. Harry and his team are friendly and always willing... More

We stayed here for one night because we travelled from San Francisco to Las Vegas and wanted to visit the Yosemite national park. The location of the town bishop is great for our trip. I found the people in this town a bit weird but that wasn't a problem because we ate something and went back to the room for... More

My friends and I have frequented the Elms Motel for a number of years. We have found it to be quiet, clean, very comfortable, and reasonable. The Elms staff is helpful and very responsive to the wishes of the guests. We highly recommend the Elms Motel to all visiting the Bishop, CA area.

My wife and I stayed here for one night on a road trip from Vegas to San Francisco, as Bishop is almost exactly half way. We found this to be a lovely little motel, quaint and kind of old fashioned, but clean and very comfortable. Loved the fact that each room was in part of a separate building, like a... More
