If you're going to the delightful city of Arcata, I recommend your staying at the Worthington House Inn in Blue Lake, California. It's a B&B refurbished by three sisters and is outstanding as are the sisters. The place is beautiful, what the sisters accomplished in bringing back to life this historic lodging is notable, and staying there will add to... more

We stayed in the downstairs Theresa Lynn room and felt as if we were transported back in time to the Victorian days when Blue Lake was a travel destination for wealthy Northern Californians. There was apparently a lake then. The room was the best we have experienced in a B&B. We are not B&B aficionados. But we loved this experience... more

The Worthington House Inn recently provided everything we wished for in performing our small wedding in their garden. They were wonderfully friendly and accommodating in providing champagne, flowers (fresh garden roses) and an intimate ceremony performed by the three innkeepers’ very kind mother. It was a great relaxed and stress free experience for our two guests and us, as they... more

We stayed at the Worthington House Inn while we explored the Redwoods around Arcata. It was wonderful. Three sisters own the B&B and have done an amazing job renovating this landmark in Blue Lake. The rooms are large and comfortable, the baked french toast is outstanding and the gardens are beautiful. My husband and I loved our visit. more

We were driving up the California coast and wanted to spend a couple of days in the Redwoods. After a lot of internet searching, we decided to try the Worthington House Inn. There are a few lower end chain motels a few miles closer to the Redwood National and State Parks, but this was the nicest place in the vicinity.... more

We stayed at the Worthington House Inn for two nights in July. It was our first time experiencing a B&B and it was an enjoyable experience. We selected the inn for a launching point to visit the Redwoods National Park and it turned out to be a much better choice than the alternative, staying at a motel in Eureka or... more

This lovely B & B is a fine example of what we hope for when we plan a vacation to an unexplored area. The location was perfect -- near Arcata and Redwood National Park. It is situated in the quaint town of Blue Lake set in an idyllic valley with a river running through to the mouth of the bay.... more

The Worthington House was the first Bed and Breakfast we have ever stayed. The house was very large, the hostesses; sisters: Kim and Rebbecca were just fabulous. Breakfast was good and the sister's conversations informative. Because we were early season guest we had the run of the entire house and had a great, relaxing stay. Needless to say we may... more

As a preservationist, I looked forward to seeing how the innkeepers had restored this historic building, a hotel built in 1887 with a long and interesting history. Since I had lived there many years ago, long before it was the Worthington House Inn, I had seen the “before” version. It was gratifying to see how the three sisters who collaborate... more

My wife and I and two of our friends--all of us in our 60's--spent two night at the Worthington House Inn in Blue Lake, CA and had a wonderful time there. The house, itself, is a fascinating and charming old building, and the accomodations were first rate. The modern bathrooms are especially spacious, and the rooms full of light and beautifully... more
