To begin with they were disorganized in confirming my reservation (got the wrong dates). Nice greeting when we arrived but cabin not clean and no water. When water was turned on it was FULL of mud (not acceptable). Upper pool was dirty and trash bins FULL. We decided not to stay, asked for a refund and this was happily given.... more

Calistoga is not a particularly kid or pet friendly area so if you want to bring either, your options in this area are extremely limited. Four of us cyclists found the Mountain Home Ranch above Calistoga to be a perfect place to stay for the evening after a long ride from San Francisco, John, the innkeeper, was extremely accomodating in meeting our calorie-depleted needs with a great pasta dinner (extra, but well worth it!), getting us ready for the return bike ride the next day.... more

Our accommodations fit what we were looking for. Affordable adjoined rooms in the heart of Wine Country with access to hiking trails and beautiful scenery. Old school charm at affordable prices. Close to downtown Calistoga but a whole different world away. I loved the canyons and the lake and being able to have my dog with me was a big plus. 1913ish property in need of repairs. Holes at the bottom of the doors allow "woodland creatures" (their words, not mine) to enter - had a cat-sized rat in my room the second night. One step above tenting. more
