I have stayed in a lot of places on the way down from San Francisco to LA. I couldnt get in the one we normally stay in , so we tried the cambria pines lodge. I would not recommend it .The rooms given to us where dirty and we could not stay in them. The owners are still booking these... more

The pros: excellent rate (we paid $89 a night which was less than the internet price after calling the reservation #), beautiful and well kept gardens, free breakfast (better than cold danish and coffee), prompt and courteous service by the housekeepers. The cons: thin walls and ceiling (heard bigfoot walking around upstairs all night, every night), OLD bathroom fixtures (maybe... more

My wife stayed here last month with her sister and nephew, while visiting Hearst Castle. When they returned to LA, we realized several days later that she'd lost/forgotten a bag with a camera and other gifts. The manager Becky was helpful, but no sign of the bag. We were welcome, though, to e-mail her a description. Still, no luck. A... more

We sometimes stop in Cambria on the way to/from long stays in Big Sur. Last trip we stayed at the delightful Sam Simeon Pines (just north of Cambria, on the beach) on the way up and opted for the Cambria Pines Lodge on the way back. Having eaten in the main Lodge's charming old restaurant on previous trips, I was... more

My husband and I just returned from a 2 night stay at Cambria Pines Lodge. We had our pooch, so we stayed in one of the pet friendly rooms, which is one of the "superior rooms". Based upon the reviews, I was expecting mediocre at best. We were very pleasantly surprised with the room, location and service. The room was... more

We stayed in the 200 cabin series and I wouldn't recommend it. We had a jr. suite that was very spacious and were very excited when we first checked in. The gardens were very nice and the pool was lots of fun (a little cool for April, but my daughter loved it!). The ladies who work at the spa were... more

It was our first trip to Cambria and I was a little worried after reading some reviews. Our room was basic, but clean and the bed was really comfortable. Only problem was that it was a little noisy because it was the first building when you entered the property. Also, whenever someone used the water, the pipes made a high... more

We just got back from a quick trip to Cambria to visit the Hearst Castle and spend a little time on the beach. We chose the Cambria Pines Lodge because it had two room suites with both a hide a bed and a sleeper sofa in the living room and a separate bedroom area. The bedroom area and the living... more

Our room was a good size and had a fireplace with a duraflame log to burn, which was nice. The bed was comfortable. The problem was that the room was noisy. I think it was the plumbing. We kept hearing a very high pitched squeal. It was bery strange since we were on the upper floor. Our friends were traveling... more

We found a great deal on Travelzoo and made a reservation after seeing the Hearst Castle, which is near by. Our room was a larger than average standard two queen bed motel room with the extra of a fireplace and a view out the window of woods and crazy California Woodpeckers. There were also little cabins and fourplexes. Looked like... more
