Ugyen Phendeyling has a big property by Bhutan standards. The rooms are distributed across a series of Bhutanese style buildings. We stayed in the second floor of one such building. Our room was quite spacious but lacked character. Attached to the room was a large enclosed balcony which gave a beautiful view of Tiger's nest. That is definitely the USP of... More

Poor location as its a 20 min drive from Paro town center. Room is clean and spacious but heating service is poor (only 1 small heater for a big room). There is only w-fi in the hotel reception area which also has poor / nil heating service. Restaurant closes early at 9pm. Resort offers pretty nice view of Tiger's Nest.

We spent eight days in Bhutan recently, having stayed in six different properties. This one was right at the midpoint in terms of quality and service. The pros: 1) Nice looking property from the outside. The resort is a series of small, Bhutanese style buildings, all of which are very well maintained from the outside. 2) Great view. The property... Pros: Facing Tiger's Nest so amazing view. Great looking from the outside. Smiling and very helpful staff, especially in restaurant. Good food. Good heater. Lots of blankets so warm at night. Lots of warm water. Cons: Very very old rooms with terribly filthy carpet. They should rip it up and just put wooden flooring! The bathroom was terrible, dirty and... More

We stayed here one night. This place had good views of Tiger's Nest monastery, and when not cloudy, as it was that evening, even of Mount Jomolahri, so we were told. The staff was helpful. The rooms were large and clean, the bathroom was clean but the shower was an issue, with the hot/cold options not working very well. We... More

I was invited take be part in a tourism conference and chose this hotel amongst those offered. It was a good choice. The cost was reasonable, the food was good and the location was of no consequence as we were shuttled around. Paro is very small and few of the hotels are "in" the town. Transport could be problematic although... More

I stayed here for few days, and though my days in Paro were hectic, but everytime I used to come back, I was greeted with great smiles, good enough to take my tiredness off. The rooms are spacious here, and very well done, with very prompt service. This place can also serve as relaxing get away, in which you just... More

Stayed in 6 hotels over 17-day trip to Bhutan, and this one was right in the middle of the scale. Nothing awful, yet nothing great. Room was big, but cold. Shower oscillated between scalding and freezing. No TV or Wi-Fi (which may have been better than the other hotels that had poorly-operating TV and Internet). Food was the same and... More

This is a beautiful and well-run resort. It has a view of the Tiger's Nest and Mt Jumolhari. Staff went out of their way to attend to our needs. The food could be better. If the resort is well occupied, the cook is more inspired. I stayed there twice. Try to get a room on the top.

I have stayed here for one night in October 2011. Rooms are spacious and have no TV (anyway - I didn't miss a TV). Bungalows in nice setting with view of Tigernest Monastery. Food (Dinner) was good - due to an early flight I haven't had breakfast. Enjoyed the hot stone bath, which was relaxing.
