I spent 10 nights at Amankora last October, and have concluded that it was the best hotel experience of my life so far, slightly besting the Villa Feltrinelli, Dar Ahlam, the Rosewood Mayakoba, and the Dolder Grand. I went to all 5 Amankora lodges, and agree with the other posters that to see all 5, you must have the stomach... more

Having stayed at Taj Tashi, where the service and food was amazing, it was disappointing to visit the Amankora, the food was very average and , although the room was nice there was no view, it is simply a hotel set in a forest. There were also issues with our reservations from beginning to end which greatly spoiled our holiday... more

From the view of a 13 year old. After flying to Paro from Kolkata with Drukair (which was amazing), we were picked up at the airport by our 4 guys who would stay with us for our Aman visit to Bhutan. Karma and Kinley would be our guides and Kencho and Gaylay would be our drivers. We had one four... more

Stayed 2 nights in May 2008 as part of a 10 night Bhutan Amankora journey. About 1/2 hour drive from the airport Amankora Paro is was least preferred aman lodge in Bhutan. The lodges, once inside are very comfortable with typical Aman sized bathrooms and a stove which is quite welcome on in the evenings when it gets a bit... more

As you might be aware, during our stay at the Amankora in Paro, the whole family got violently ill. My son had to be driven to the hospital and my daughter had to be seen by a doctor in Thimpu. My daughter was ill for many days. After our return to Switzerland we immediately went to the Center for Tropical... more

This was my second trip to Bhutan (my wife's first)...My first trip I went with Chundu travel and had a different experience...Will compare them towards the end of the review...Aman had four (not five lodges) all called Amankora (in different locations)...We were visiting during the Paro festival and tried to arrange our schedule so that we were able to attend... more

This was our second time back to Amankora. We were there 2005 and they only had their Paro and Punakha lodges open. This time we stayed in all 5 lodges on our 10 day journey. On our descent we had a clear view of Mt. Everest and it felt like we were coming home! The drive was breath taking to... more

Bhutan is indeed a very special country and Aman offers one of the best ways to explore this enchanting country. If you've stayed with Amanresorts before you'd know pretty much what to expect however I found lack of a refreshment center and any kind of tv/radio in the room a bit disappointing. Dont get me wrong I understand people are... more

We ended our 12 day 5 lodge Amankora experience in Paro where most people begin their journey. The 24-room lodge is similar in style to the other lodges but on a larger scale due to its location. If you start you journey here you will be overwhelmed by the Aman experience. However since we ended our journey here I am... more

A few firsts. First Aman experience (will be hard to beat). First time in Bhutan. First class service. First class food. First class experience. We went for a quick break, some peace and exercise. We got much more. You can read the other recent Amankora Paro reviews for detail. What I wanted to say was Thank You to the manager... more
