The resort was beautiful though not as scenically spectacular as some if its sister properties [Punakha and Gangtey]. The service, food and accommodations were excellent. We loved the signature beverages and changing menus at each destination but also truly appreciated some of the things that reamined the same which gave the whole trip the feeling that you were away but... Food totally tasteless, miserable, mediocre. These are the lightest words to describe that terrible food. The only thing they could do, was to add more chilly, or not. How can a hotel like this hire people who have no idea about cooking? One guy at Punakha Amankora hotel said the truth, when we asked about more tasty Bhutanese food: 'well,... More

We stayed here a final night of our 6 night aman tour. I wish we had more time. Great mountain biking, had a dinner outside by the fire, lovely sunset walks. The aman provided a wonderful yoga instructor too and was entirely accommodating the entire trip of our lack of desire for communal dinners. (We hadn't seen each other in... More

We did the 5 night Aman journey during the new year and we stayed at four properties during our stay (Thimphu, Gangtey, Punakha and Paro). The first part of my review is about Amankora in general which applies to all the properties and the second section is about the property itself in specific. We flew in via Bangkok and did... More

I've always wanted to stay at an Aman hotel so my expectations were very high. They exceeded them. We stayed after a 7 night camping trek and to arrive at this haven was pure bliss. Great massage and traditional hot stone bath are worth trying. Food and fine wines that break away from the traditional Bhutanese food, thank goodness! i... More

My wife and I have travel extensively for many, many years, and, as with anything, the more we travel, the more expectations we have from top hotels. The Aman met or exceeded those expectations. Yes, it is pricey but we felt it worth every penny. Because we made our plans last minute, we booked directly with Aman and had them... More

Amankora Journey We visited Bhutan in late December for 10 days. All my research suggested the best time to come to this country is in the Spring or the Fall. We learned by our own experience and talking with the hotel managers and guides that this is a misconception. Due to scheduling, December was the only time we could make... More

We just returned from 7 days in Bhutan. Stayed at the Amankora Thimpu the first night, then trekked for 5 days/4 nights before returning to the Amankora Paro. Both Amankora hotels were stunning but Paro was the best. The setting, the staff and the food were all impeccable! Cannot recommend it enough. You'll pay a lot but it is worth... More

This is gonna be tough. How do you describe heaven on earth?? A perfect sanctuary of peacefulness and self indulgence. A blissful experience in the middle of the Himalayas. It's like stumbling upon a magical kingdom in the forest. The location is in the middle of nowhere. A perfect escape from the real world. Just do it!!

My second Aman stay, an other friendly, tranquil, friendly, nothing-too-much-trouble small hotel with exquisite facilities and fine food - Yak curry prepared specially after an ad hoc question yielded an offer from the chef. Lovely spa, magnificent views, close to the Tiger's Nest, some distance from Paro town. Felt slightly less warmth of welcome compared to the Aman in Thimphu,... More
