I have always wanted to stay at this hotel, given the great location. I'm getting married within a mile of the property in Spring 2010, so I thought this the perfect opportunity to take the fiance for a night in November to celebrate his b-day and check out this hotel as a possible recommendation for our guests. The problem is,... more

Hey, all of you so serious travelers. We stay at the Venetian every time we can. It is refreshingly funky. If you want a fancy place, stick to the Hilton. We even brought our rather snooty relatives from back east and they loved the charm of it. The desk staff have always been great but they do not like noisy... more

I will start with the good......location is terrific, right on the beach, you can just walk into town and have access to everything you need. The bad....customer service is insanely rude! A guy named Lon was at the front desk and I have never dealt with anyone like that at a hotel. He acted like he hated his job and... more

Our family of 6 stayed here over the fourth of July weekend. We stayed in a lower level room, which was a bit cramped, but I think they used the space very wisely (ie flat screen TV, foldout couch in the "living room area," the kitchen had a bar for more seating). The parking lot is a bit rough, being... more

We just returned from a terrific 3 day stay the Capitola Venetian. The room was one of their largest, more like a small apartment. The view from the room was perfect, we could see the beach, the lagoon, and the restaurants across the way. The front desk staffers were always helpful, the room was clean, and the only noise was... more

I was a little reluctant after reading some of the reviews, but now after having stayed their for 5 night and 6 glorious days I have to say, this is one of the nicest and most relaxing stays my wife and I have had for a very long time. It is not fancy but wow is it a wonderful place... more

This is such a fabulous place to stay. Any shortcomings in the accommodation were totally outweighed by the resort and location. The accommodation was adequate in a fairly basic self-catering unit. The bed was in a corner and fairly high so wasn't totally user friendly but nevertheless comfy and clean. Capitola itself is lovely, the beach is gorgeous and it... more

This was sure not what we expected. We were in the area for a wedding and chose The Venetian because of a referral from a friend. We were VERY disappoined. We had a non-view room, which means you are downstairs facing a narrow pedestrian alley that allows no light into the rooms. There were a number of garbage cans in... more

Stayed here for two nights hoping for a relaxing weekend. Property is directly across the sand from eight or nine bars and it is EXTREMELY loud. Once the decks of the bars close at 2:00 a.m. the party moves to the beach. On the second night it was so rowdy the hotel Manager called the cops and they said they... more

This hotel is a bit of a roller coaster ride - the highs are really high, and the lows are way down there. First, the highs: superb location right on the beach, in the middle of the village, next to the wharf and in walking distance of restaurants and shops; unique suites have full kitchens; some suites have fireplaces and/or... more
