We normally stay at the Residence In in Carlsbad, but decided to be more economicla in our choice of where to stay when we visit Carlsbad twice a year. The room is not bad, claen but small compared to what we are use to for a family of four. When the sofabed is pulled out, the room is smaller still... more

We made our reservation a month in advance and per suggestions in other reviews requested a room away from the noisy freeway. And...we were given a room one unit from the freeway. When we requested a quieter room we were given a vague song and dance about availability despite a nearly empty parking lot. After lunch we found a more... more

La Quinta was a great stay for us. The Hotel was very clean and the breakfast was really pretty good, especially for our 4 and 5 year old. Waffles, eggs, fruit coffee nice way to save some money and get the energy we needed for Legoland. We took the train (Coaster) out to the hotel which also made for a... more

With most hotels in the area costing over $130, I paid $85/night (including 15% off for nonrefundable deal). What I got was a free breakfast with waffles, hard-boiled eggs, juice, etc., in a great location a few blocks to the beach. (It's near the Interstate, but that's no big deal.) It's in a really good neighborhood, and the help was... more

This is one of the best budget hotels we have stayed at. The room was clean and I liked the sheet on top of the blanket. I generally bring my own bedding but did not feel the need to use it. The pool is small as previously mentioned (15 at a time and only 4 in the jacuzzi) but it... more

We stayed at the motel for a weekend getaway. The motel was what I expected, your basic economy hotel. One plus was two queen beds as opposed to two doubles. As expected, the room was a little tight but functional. You can't expect much for these prices. The pool area is small and during this summer weekend full of kids.... more

Clean hotel right off freeway. Good breakfast. Paid $89/room, with no additional costs for our two perfect Westies. Only bad was the paper-thin walls, traffic noise, and noisy people--never bothered by any noise from dogs at 4 a.m.! Worst part--the drive from Los Angeles on the 5 (and back) even during the week. If you don't mind driving 30 miles... more

I see that someone who paid $75/night gave this place 5 stars, and I would too at that price. $129 for a weekday in July was the lowest price we found, and it is not a great value at that price. The only really negative thing I have to say is that the rooms are small and basic -- smaller... more

I took a quick (2 night stay) family vacation to Carlsbad to visit Legoland and had an overall great experience at the hotel. We took advantage of the heated pool and spa along with the fresh towels at the pool side. The rooms looked very welcoming & well cleaned. Not many rooms do you find a working fridge (very quite),... more

La Quinta was a great place for us to stay in Carlsbad. We met friends and enjoyed the ease of getting around the area from the location. As others have said- very clean rooms and outdoor areas, friendly service, smooth checkin, convenient breakfast room, and wifi included. I will be glad to stay again. more
