The food at Aubergine is overprice, undersized and mediocre. If you want to waste your money, go there, if not, choose another place. More

My family and I just recently stayed at L'Auberge this past weekend, and had such an amazing time. From the delicious breakfast, to the nightly drinks at the reception area, and of course cookies at turn down. Just amazing. The convenience to Ocean really made our lives easier because we didn’t have to jump into our car to have a... More

We've stayed at this property twice and loved it both times. The breakfasts were great, the staff awesome and welcoming, and the restaurant outstanding for dinner. We had visted Napa and went to the French Laundry and I have to say that our meal at L'Auberge was almost as good....it was outstanding. Love that we could ask for an outdoor... More

From the moment we parked our car and were greeted by an attentive staff, our weekend at this Inn was terrific. We were upgraded to a "peek view King" which was good size and well appointed. Peek is the right word -- you really can't see the Ocean, but, we felt warm and private in room 9. We chose L'Auberge... More

The room was a bit dated. They may need a fresh coat of paint and nicer TV's. But the service is the best! I loved the cookies at night. Breakfast in bed rocked. As with all R&C properties they pimp the meal on you too hard. The food was over the top experimental and way too pricey. I felt like... More

My wife and I came the the L'Auberge for a one night getaway from city living. As a couple, my wife and I were lower on the age and income scale than your typical guests, but despite our arrival in somewhat sweaty hiking gear after touring nearby Point Lobos, we were treated like old friends. Our room (a King Courtyard... More

A most lovely and charming boutique hotel with an adorable courtyard and extremely accommodating staff. Felt like we were in a cute town in Europe. I never realized just how important heated bathroom floors could be. They kept my feet toasty (the weather was very chilly that weekend). The breakfast (included in our Jetsetter rate) was just perfect (fruit plate,... More

We stayed at L'Auberge Carmel in late September for 2 nights of a 25th anniversary 6 day vacation. The hotel was like a lovely french chateaux. We enjoy staying at boutique hotels for the personal service and ambiance. We received both at L'Auberge Carmel. One of the most pleasant surprises of out stay was the AMAZING dinner we experienced. We... More

I was surprised and delighted to discover that the hype about Carmel-on-sea is true and then some - it really is the most amazingly picturesque, and romantic location imaginable. Our hotel, L'Auberge is a true gem, a beautifully restored and maintained European style boutique hotel, with rooms grouped around a Spanish style courtyard replete with outdoor seating, geraniums and gas heaters...
