This is a beautiful, charming place. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but a little unorganized. They got us in the wrong room, then they moved us and then they charged me twice for the same night. They worked out all the problems eagerly and in a friendly manner. The only real problem with the room was the noise... more

We weren't sure what to expect after reading the mixed reviews on this site. Now that we've been there, we come down on the side of those who enjoyed their stay here. We had a mini king suite with a tiny fireplace and a small kitchenette with microwave, sink, cupboards and mini fridge. Closet size is good. We also needed... more

We enjoyed our stay at this B & B. The staff were friendly and helpful; our room was very nice and clean and the grounds were well-kept and contributed to the peaceful “get-away” feeling of Carmel. Although the breakfast was sufficient, it was simple and continental – nothing fancy. We would certainly recommend this B&B to others travelling through Carmel... more

If you're trying to do Carmel on a budget; don't. Either splurge for better digs or stay in nearby Monterey or Pacific Grove. Our room had a funny smell, the bed is ancient and the sheets threadbare. (No fitted sheets, either.) The bathroom seemed clean enough, but the bedroom carpet looked like something from the 70s and I never walked... more

Found this hotel on the internet and was a little concerned over some of the reviews, however, was pleasantly surprised! The staff were excellent and the rooms were clean and very well appointed. The grounds were beautiful, with a nice garden, sitting area and relaxing music. Parking and wireless internet was supplied. The shops and downtown were within walking distance... more

From all appearances this looked like a nice place to stay. I did immediately notice the road noice while checking in, but didn't hear it once inside my room. The grounds are well kept and the room was clean, but both my parent's and my room had a pungent odor in them. The front desk said they had just remoeled... more

We stayed at Crystal Terrace on Sun, May 25 and paid only $118 per night. We had just paid about that same price for much lesser motels in Solvang and San Simeon and weren't expecting much - especially in an expensive town like Carmel. We were very pleasantly surprised!! For that price (and in general), everything was excellent! The lobby... more

Have you ever paid $200 a night for a B&B and gotten Wonder Bread for breakfast? That's what you get here. Horrible breakfast. There's a nice garden but four of the rooms are right next to Carpetnter Road which gets a lot of traffic (it connects to US 1) and a lot of noise all night. The woman that runs... more

Overall, this B&B was just OK. After reading the terrific reviews, I REALLY wanted to be impressed, but my husband and I found the place just OK. I didn't think it was any more romantic or charming than a number of the other B&Bs, which are located downtown. Nor did I think it was that superb of a deal. The... more

When planning for a romantic getaway, I was fortunate to have this place recommended to me by a colleague. Charmingly situated in Carmel, this hotel is the perfect blend of quaintness and modern luxury. I adored the Bed-and-Breakfast style decor and feel of the Crystal Terrace, but was glad to have the peace and privacy of a hotel. I was... more
