We stayed in the Ocean House cottage and were delighted with its quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The complimentary sherry, the inviting fireplace to keep us warm from the falling rain (tempting us to never leave the room!), the lovely décor, comfy bedding, and the spacious room (plenty for us and our baby gear) are all reasons we will make this... more

My husband & I stayed at the Forest Lodge for a weekend get-a-way and I HIGHLY recommend it! The room was tastefully decorated, sweet, charming, and in the perfect location. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and guided us to the right spots. We were given tokens to exchange for breakfast at a local, organic cafe in the heart of downtown... more

I fell in love with the Lamp Lighter Inn earlier this year and have been back twice in just the few months since then. This time, it was suggested that I try their sister property, Forest Lodge. It was beautiful and cozy and charming, but compared to staying at the Lamp Lighter, it left a few things to be desired.... more

We originally booked a stay at the Garden House but since there was construction right next door, we were relocated to the Lamplighter Inn. Kudos to the photographer who took the website pictures of the Garden House because it looked very inviting online however when we opened the door to check out our rooms, we were so disappointed! The room... more

Stayed here 3 nights in September (19-22), and simply loved the Forest Lodge! We had originally planned to stay in Monterey, thinking Carmel would be totally out of our price range. At the last minute, I stumbled across this place, and was able to reserve the Dali room, at a very reasonable rate. We couldn't have been more pleased. There... more

My husband and I stayed at the Forest Lodge in Carmel and LOVED IT. Location was perfect-- it's right on the main street. it's about a 7-10 minute walk to the beach-- which at first I thought would bother me- but not at all! it was wonderful to be able to walk down there and get to look around on... more

First time in Carmel and stayed here for 2 nights. Got a really good deal over the phone for last-minute booking. We were allocated the Dali room which is perfect for a relaxing stay; short walk into town and down to the beach, near the shops and handy for Highway 1 into Monterey (we visited the aquarium - a Must... more

I stayed here for 2 nights in Sep and had a wonderful experience. The Dali Cottage is a modern well equipped suite in an excellent location for exploring Carmel. The staff are super friendly and very helpful. I would struggle to find fault with anything, other than, being English I would have liked a kettle to make a cup of... more

Had our honeymoon here. Great stay. We loved the Einstien Cottage. Almost bigger than our NYC apartment. Service was super friendly. We really enjoyed the breakfast. more

This is a cute b&b/hotel right in the heart of downtown Carmel by the Sea. The location is perfect for enjoying this quant town, and the rooms have recently been updated. My only issue is that the rooms are quite a bit smaller than they appear on the website. I looked in some of the rooms at the sister property,... more
