My wife and I chose Carmel for its dog-friendly nature; lots of dog friendly hotels and restaurants- (We're devoted to our little pup) and for its proximity to Big Sur. The B&B/hotel was charming; good sized room with fireplace - a nice touch on a cold, rainy night. The staff were welcoming, competent, and the breakfast was very good, nout... more

This was our 3rd stay at the Carmel Country Inn and I'm pleased to say that this is still the No1 place to stay in Carmel. Under the stewardship of the innkeeper Amy Johnson our 4 night stay in the Treehouse room was just perfect. Will we be going back? As sure as night follows day. more

We absolutely loved the Carmel Country Inn. We have stayed in Carmel at least twice a year for over thirty years. This was our first visit to Carmel Country Inn. We will be making it our destination get-away in the Carmel area from now on. We were traveling with our 13 year old twin sons and our Cavalier King Charles... more

Having lived in Carmel for 12 years, I was familiar with the Inn - both as the Dolores Lodge and now as the Carmel Country Inn. Under the innkeeper-ship of Amy Johnson it has become the premier place to stay in my book: secluded (which means quiet), comfortable, and the breakfast fare surpasses any restaurant in town. One feels charmed... more

My husband and I stayed at the Carmel Country Inn for 3 nights in late October. No wonder my parents keep travelling back to this place - what a wonderful little inn. On arrival we were treated like friends and the staff's hospitality remained that way for our entire stay. Whilst its not an ultra modern deluxe hotel (not that... more

I have traveled with my dog nationally and internationally and never been treated so rudely. This hotel has an unwavering "no pets alone" in the room policy which according to the hotel staff is found in EVERY hotel in Monterey and Carmel. The staff member was rude, difficult and unhelpful and only repeated "I can e-mail you a list of... more

Yes, we are Pet Friendly and Yes, we have terms, which we prefer to call Guidelines for guests traveling with their pets. We and our guests who travel with pets feel very privileged to have such a welcoming and tolerant community set in such remarkably beautiful place as Carmel by the Sea and not only do the lodging establishments have...

We just returned from a 4 day visit to Carmel, and our first stay at the Carmel Country Inn. After staying in rural areas or near the ocean on previous visits, we wanted to stay within easy walking distance of Ocean Avenue. After finding the Carmel Country Inn's website, I booked a room and hoped that the inn was as... more

We recently traveled to Carmel to stay at the Carmel Counrty Inn. Everybody was welcoming and friendly. We brought our 2 golden retrievers and the accomodations were perfect. The rooms were clean and homey. Very close to beach, and all the downtown shopping. We would definately stay there again! The Genicoff's more

I was pleasantly surprised by this charming B&B. The room was very spacious - huge king bed with fireplace and the bathroom with jetted tubs was amazing. We brought our shepherd mix and she was very comfortable. The front desk has DVDs you can borrow for free which was a nice touch. And you are in very close proximity to... more
