I took the Amtrak from Los Angeles to Carpinteria. According to Google Maps, the Motel 6 was about 1 mile from the train station. I managed to walk from the station to the motel in about 20 minutes. Very Clean, Euro Style rooms (they have removed the carpet and installed really nice tile like flooring, special euro beds without box springs so that they are off the floor and it is clean even under the beds.
