One of the best, down home secrets on the planet. We have visited several time and are staying again in 2013. It really is a great place to get some solitude. If you appeal to the western ranch-style of living. Just hang out around Cedarville and ease drop on some of the local conversation. I couldn't help but smile and... More

Our bookclub had a fun weekend at the Hotsprings. We've done this twice and continue to enjoy the location, facilities, and amenities. The hot tub water is nice because it is fresh water unladen with chemicals. The kitchen is nice for quick meals while at the hot springs.

We had such a good time, the room exceeded our expectations. was very well decorated, and romantic. the hot tub warm and relaxing, despite being cold and snowy outside. Wish we could have stayed longer, and we will definitely be back!

We loved this place. We stayed in the Cape Cottage. The view from the soaking tub was amazing. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Even our pup had a great time. We will definitely be going back.

Came here with a girlfriend for my birthday and it was great. Angela is a fantastic massage therapist; wonderful combination of technical and intuitive touch. The mineral water is lovely and tubs are big. Some dust on artificial plants and heaters/coolers. Clean besides that.

good, clean, comfortable well maintained, friendly lodging in a remote and beautiful part of northwestern California. We enjoyed our visit. A caution, Google Maps shows the location on 299 east of Burney, but it's actually about 100 miles west of Burney in Cederville.

My husband and a fellow coworker were 'sent' to the resort to evaluate the geothermal site for energy production. I've lived in the Tahoe area 20+ years and had never heard of Surprise Valley Hotsprings but was happy to tag along. Now, I am coordinating girls weekends, couples getaways and future stays just for my husband and I. This place... More

Our first trip was in July 2011. Our second was in February 2012. We had mosquitoes in July, but had brought Off! repellant, and had a wonderful trip. We loved the spa and no chlorine! We took several local trips because we had never been to Modoc County before. Especially beautiful was the trip over Fandango Pass. We went in... More

We have been to the Surprise Valley Hotsprings five or six times and will go again. For two people who have high stress jobs and have a difficult time relaxing, this is just what the doctor ordered. We tried several rooms and have settled on the Greek Villa, because it has a king sized bed in the back. Most rooms... More

My husband and I just returned from our stay and we are already trying to decide when to go back! So relaxing! Our room was very clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our dinner at Country Hearth and cocktails at the 22 bar then a lovely soak in the tub. Sleept like babies! Coffee in... More
