We loved the Lodge at Whitehawk Ranch (as did my 8- and 10-year-old children) and scheduled a second trip for next summer before we left. There are 14 private cabins and a main building that holds the restaurant and bar. Meals are served to guests as well as local residents of the private community. The other amenities too (e.g., golf,... More

The quiet serene setting was just what we were looking for . . . of course, we were there in the fall when few people were around. The website does not do the lodge or cabins justice - both are calmly charming, exceptionally clean and comfortable. Our cabin was spacious and well appointed - no phone but a tv, AC,... More

We stayed two nights in September at the Lodge at Whitehawk and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The private cabins are a delight. Our cabin, number 7, is decorated in Early American style and no detail has been missed, from the antique framed drawings on the wall to the painting on the trash can. Great hiking nearby, delicious breakfasts,... More

We pulled up to Whitehawk Lodge and it was even more beautiful than the fabulous photos on line. We are a golfing couple and Hawaii is our favorite, Marthas Vineyard, Myrtle Beach or Palm Springs but decided to find a golfing area in the mountains that offered golf, hiking, lakes for fishing, great food and ok.. I guess, we wanted... More

We stayed here for two nights in early August while exploring the Lakes Basin area north of Truckee. We usually go to Tahoe and thought that it would instead be fun to see what this area had to offer. We were looking for hiking, fly fishing and swimming in lakes. Great area on all of those fronts and not crowded... More

I made a reservation for our wedding anniversary based on the menu and the setting posted on their website. When we arrived we were told that this was their barbeque night and dogs were welcome on the porch! The BBQ would be served buffet style. Not quite what we had in mind for an anniversary dinner. I have no problem... More

In October of 2010, my husband and I were married at the Lodge at Whitehawk. I couldn’t have asked for a more special day. Our families booked up all of the beautiful cabins and we made an entire weekend of it. The food was fabulous and Jerry, Mary Ann and the staff went above and beyond to make it wonderful... More

Wow, were we lucky to find this place! Everything was so nice and well turned out. We stayed in the lovely "Buckskin" cabin and loved almost everything about it. I am not sure if our favorite thing was how nice it was not to share a wall with others or the pleasure of sitting on our porch while we listened... More

We have stayed at The Lodge at Whitehawk many times. The surroundings are beautiful. It is peaceful and relaxing but there is lots to do in the area. There is a golf course on the property, tennis courts, a swimming pool and even a dog pond. Our dogs love it here. The cabins are clean and well maintained and the... More

The Lodge at Whitehawk was a pleasant surprise. This was my first time to the Graeagle area, and I really enjoyed it. We brought up our road bikes for the long weekend and had some of the best cycling, right from our cabin. We did a few loops - the first day up around Gold Lake and down the other... More
