My friend and I made a reservation at the Capistrano Seaside Inn which fell far short of expectations so we headed down the street to find an alternative place to stay. Fernando at the Best Western (Dana Point Inn by the Sea) saved our weekend by providing a room at a great price. This hotel has new, comfortable beds, a... more

LISTEN TO ALL THE OTHER NEGATIVE REVIEWS!!! The building actually shakes a bit from the train -- noisy! PCH is also noisy. Nice room. Big, spacious. Internet is free (If it's not hidden within this high price.) $210 per night is not worth it! Manager says that it was $80 discount. They give you free earplugs - visible right on... more

I've traveled all over the country for mostly work, sometimes family outings, but for the most part I know a good hotel when I see one. And I am a self-proclaimed OCD when it comes to clean hotel service. And it's not just me...being from the Eastern seaboard, I happen to always strike up conversation with someone from the Midwest... more

Yes, the hotel is almost on top of Pacific Coast Highway, and a few feet further are the railroad tracks, and yes it seems that the hotel is the marker to tell the train engineer to blow the horn. . . But ia few feet beyond that is the Pacific Ocean and Doheny State Beach. If you close the windows... more

The hotel itself is not that bad. The manager gave us a huge room with a nice view. The hotel is a but pricey for what you get (old rooms, bad mattresses),but the real point of the bad experience was the night trains. The trains actually pass just in front of the hotel and the drivers seems to enjoy to give... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at this Best Western at it was so old and dirty. They gave us the "brial suite" the room was so small and crampy....we had a tiny balcony with "ocean view" all you could see and hear was PCH. they didn't even give us towels.... we had to call them 4 times before they came... more

The rooms are very small. The motel manager is impossible to deal with. They actually told me on the phone that they were located on the Dana Point marian. They are a good 3 miles from the marina. The motel is not on the beach. It is across Pacific Highway which is very noisy. more

We stayed 2 nights mid July 2006 in room #201 on the second floor which we were told was the “bridal suite”. It’s actually the room shown on the hotel internet site with the vaulted ceilings and fireplace. The large very clean room additionally has a comfortable purple couch, good size balcony with a table & 2 chairs and an... more

Unfortunately I didn't pay attention to other reviewers that wrote about the property being right on PCH, a four lane highway, and the train. The MetroLink train runs by about every 20 minutes and when going south, blows the heck out of it's horn when it get directly adjacent to the hotel. The last blast I heard was at 2:30am.... more

We had mixed feelings about the 1 night we spent at this hotel. However, the only negative factor was really the noise. We had originally booked an ocean view room. When we arrived, we were assigned a room on the first floor directly facing the ocean. Outside our window was the ocean, along with four lanes of traffic and a... more
