We have been staying at this hotel for years, and little by little it has improved to the point that after our stay this summer we are giving it our highest recommendation. They have added air conditioning and remodeled the bathrooms, and put in new tables and chairs on the balconies. The location near Moonlight Beach couldn't be better. Having... more

Wanted to get out of the desert for one of the last of the cheaper weekends before the real summer crowds started heading out. We read some of the reviews for this place and laughed at them ... That was, until we settled in and sat outside on our balcony: We checked in around 10pm, unloaded our stuff, checked out... more

I found this place "by accident" about 5 years ago when my son and I were out for a "bonding vacation" in California. We were tired and "had" to stay in La Jolla the night before and paid $$$$ for an average Best Western room. "Way" overpriced so the next day we took of "up the road" and found this... more

My wife & I stayed there during a recent visit to Encinitas & stayed for 5 nights. We were a little apprehensive before we checked in because our friends who are locals had told us it was quite an old motel but also admitted they had never gone in or seen a room. My wife & I were very pleasantly... more

Let me start by saying that it was my ladies birthday so I booked this motel because I thought it was a way for us to have a good time and hang out and celebrate together. I was wrong. The motel's manager who apparently lives there on site was rude. My lady and I were on the balcony enjoying our... more

We booked our reservations telephonically and were skeptical at first as to the quality of the place if there was not a website to allow on-line bookings. We were pleasantly surprised. The motel is located just blocks from the beach, which can be seen quite magnificently from room 207. The room was clean with comfortable beds, serviced daily, and reasonably... more

I paid $500 (+$66 tax) for the weekly special (7 nights) - not sure for what period that's available but even the regular rate is a great deal for this area. Only two short blocks to the beach. It's an older motel, sort of 60/70's style but the units are very big, clean, well serviced and with an equipped kitchenette.... more

Location to the beach is wonderful. Funky beach motel but kinda cool. Definately not your typical chain lodging. Service was great, owner a very nice lady. Great ocean view from our room on 2nd floor. Queen bed comfort was only ok. After 3 nights we'd had enough. Big Problems: There's a HUGE construction project going on right now across the... more

Tried to talk to the motel about a reservation next summer. Rather unpolite answer. "Not ready: Call again April 1". Asked about the rate. No answer. Asked about rates last year. Motel-representative (owner?) wouldn´t answer. She was definetly not kind. Therefore: Are you really sure this is the right place? Found another (better) accomodation. In 10 minutes. Got an agreement.... more
