What makes a bed and breakfast stand out is the attention to detail and personal service you do not get at a hotel. Genie keeps this place spotless and full of personal touches. From turn down service, to soft music playing throughout to the puzzle out for everyone to work on, everthing is done with a warm personal touch. Delicious... more

We had selected the Ship's Inn as a stop on our way from CA to WA on the coast highway. The reviews were good and we expected such but came away with a much different perception. The drive in was a bit depressing due to the lack of homes and vacant lots in the neighborhood. The imagination leads you to... more

I came here for a romantic getaway; we were actually fleeing an over-the-top Victorian monstrosity with lace, cherubs and potpourri everywhere we turned, so this was a last-minute booking because it looked nice, decent and cherub-free. We felt warmly welcomed by the owner, Genie, and loved the personal touches of freshly baked dessert, round-the-clock hot beverages, off-street parking, tastefully decorated... more

My husband & I just departed from The Ship's Inn this morning. We were only able to stay one night since we had planned an 800 mile road trip and had to be on our way first thing in the morning, but I wanted to confirm what others wrote about the Inn. This was our first time at a B&B... more

On a recent visit to California's North Shore I stayed at the Ship's Inn in Eureka. It was a perfect base of operations for one travelling in this area. The Inn itself is a victorian built in 1877 by a local sea captain that has been beautifully restored. Upon entering the stair lined foyer you are overtaken with a delightful... more

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Ship's Inn in Eureka, CA. I stayed in the Mission Room which is absolutely beautiful. I don't know what I enjoyed more; the comfy bed, the oversized claw-foot tub or the fabulous breakfasts. I felt so spoiled, even pampered. Back to the breakfasts...Raspberry Stuffed French Toast one morning, and what the... more

the rates were rather high for what you get. the house is interesting and pretty, not in the best area, but we could easily overlook that. We've stayed at many bed & breakfast in CA and OR and this is the 2nd worse. The bed is comfortable but the place has an empty feeling and the hostess appears to be... more

Regarding your stay at The Ship's Inn, I am so sorry you experienced such a negative stay. Based on all the praise and accolades from other guests both in the room diaries and directed to me personaly, this is a first. All comments are taken seriously and as constructive so I thank you for your perception. Thousands have passed through...

The Ships Inn and its innkeeper, Genie, were great! The Ships Inn is a bed and breakfast in Eureka, California...the Inn is in a historic old house and has only three rooms available. We paid $119.90 for the Rose Garden Room, which is the cheapest room in the house. The Rose Garden Room is the cheapest of all because it... more
