The Front desk and Housekeepers were exceptional. But very dissapointed in accomodations. Terrible mattress and bedding. Front desk checked us in, but it had not been cleaned. Reason for the visit to Eureka was to watch Grandson play baseball for the Humboldt Crabs. Stayed two nights instead of our three night schedule. No plans to return. more
We selected this hotel based on "dog friendly" reviews from various websites. We were not disappointed. In fact, there was a Kennel Club showing in a nearby town and many of the participants stayed here. Our dog (70 lb lab) was allowed in the lobby and hallways in addition to the room. Spent one night, had two rooms each with... more
Front desk promised a room with a balcony, then I went up to room to find it had none. My room was just next to housekeeping so there were loud, obnoxious sounds starting early in the morning, and next to vending machines (which are not in recessed area) so got to hear children debating what kind of junk food to... more
We stayed at the Red Lion during our visit to Humboldt State University. Best location for traveling to and from HSU. Although on Hwy 111, our room was on the bayside and very quiet. Staff friendly; small, but adequate, business center on 3rd floor. more
What a view of the back 'BACK ALLEY!' No window in the king bed room, elevator was dirty the night we checked in and the next afternoon we checked out it was still dirty. They wanted something like $169 but with my travel agent credentials they discounted the room to $96. I also rented their conference room to do a... more
We stopped at Eureka on a trip to San Francisco, and when I asked to checkin, they sent us to a room that obviously had not been cleaned. The bathroom was used, the bed had bedsheets and pillows in disarray. So a few minutes later they sent us to another room, that didn't have a microwave oven, even though the... more
Driest, cleanest, most comfortable hotel in moldy old Eureka. Great staff and service and the only Eureka hotel with airport transportation! If you've ever flown into ACV, you know the flight arrival and departure times can be challenging. Found better deals on the rates by going to Expedia or Priceline, than using their website or calling the hotel. more
We were being pretty spontaneous on a drive from Seattle to the SF Bay area, and needed to find a room FAST that also allowed dogs, so we'd be in time to watch a political event on TV. Having just spent a lot of money on a pretty yucky Best Western in Brookings, OR, we were delighted with the quality... more
We stayed here for 2 nights while touring northern california on Sept 5th and 6th. The room (2 queen beds) was large and clean but at $150 plus taxes per night very expensive for what was offered. The hotel is on the outskirts of Eureka, a good 20 min walk to downtown and no shuttle is offered. Breakfast was extra... more
