This place is crazy. Party all day and night and located right on top of a bar (closes at 1:30 am though). If you are young and like to party, this is the place to be. If you want to relax, don't go here. Rooms are a little smelly and the place is a mess! Awesome view over Hermosa Beach!! more

The location of the hostel is great and it's a safe place to leave your stuff but the atmosphere is horrible. The people staying here leave a huge mess every night. The management is horrible. Because they were so rude I will not be staying here again more

This hostel is very nice. There is a neat & clean kitchen. Bathrooms are shared but are ok. The hostel site isn't that attractive but for sure this hostel is. The best hostel...been back for 2 summers, i will be back this summer for sure! It doesn't have every home comfort, but it has a warm atmosphere, fun, and cheap. It is a great part of the travelling experince. The only hostel i have been to with hair dyers free to use around the place. LOVE IT! more

There is a guy who is kinda he chief of the Tv room. So if you like to watch other stuff than Sports, you are not going to appreciate the Tv room. There is a bar at the first floor, so just aked to be on the second floor because it's noisy on the first one. Nice people work there.... more

I had booked surf City weeks in advance and on arrival was turned away and told i my booking had been cancelled. This was totally incorrect and i was left with nowhere to stay that night! The staff were most unhelpful and i have still not recieved a refund for the deposit i paid!! CHECK YOUR RESERVATION BEFORE YOU GO!!! more

The smell of urine was particularly rancid. The hostel also has a serious problem of being above a nightclub and next to a live music bar, that would often compete to be the loudest. We couldnt sleep on any night that we stayed due to the thumping bass shaking the room until 2 in the morning. It was so loud... more
