The one good thing about my stay at the Econo Lodge in Hesperia was that they had a vacancy. On my drive from San Diego to Las Vegas it was late and I was getting tired and needed to stop. This place had the only vacancy I could find in town. Positives: It was about $60 and the rooms are large. Negatives: It's dirty, noisy from the highway, worn, needs repair. There are stains, burns, etc. You don't want to touch anything. I kept my socks on.
My first room's window didn't lock (this is the kind of neighborhood that you want to lock up before going to bed) so I asked for a second room. That window lock was broken too. I was tired, so I just stayed put.
My favorite thing about the hotel was the late-night check-in window that is thick mirrored glass so you can't even see the clerk inside. A bit eerie and not too inviting.
