The people - the two Barbs and Bob - are extremely friendly and helpful. The "room" is almost an apartment: living room with cozy fireplace, fully-equipped kitchen, and comfy bedroom. The Tahquitz Inn is just off Hwy 243, just around the corner from the village center and the Forestry station. Idyllwild is a small town/medium village. It survives mainly due to tourism. The Truth is it was less than rustic at best. Manager even tried to charge us double. No housekeeping. Carpet was old and very dirty. more

We stayed here after reading lots of reviews, and found it as delightful as everyone said. It has a great location, friendly staff, and well-equipped facilities. We especially liked the separate bedroom from the living room so I could watch TV without bothering my wife while she napped. We will stay here again. more
