The best in Noboribetsu. Expensive but worth it! The meals provided by the Ryokan were amazing and delicious. Onsen was fantastic too! We were there for 2 nights in April but surprisingly it was not crowded at all. Love the relaxing lounge too. Overall, it's one of the best onsen Ryokan during our japan trip.

This is fine modern onsen ryokan with outstanding meals. The whole experience was very relaxing & peaceful with staff helpful & professional at all times. The service we experienced in February was excellent & couldn't be faulted. Our room was beautifully appointed, modern sukiya style, with a horigotatsu (pit) seating area next to the balcony. The balcony overlooked the lovely... More

This is our second stay at Takinoya after having stayed there a night in December 2011. Our second stay was on a busier night (30th Dec), while the first stay was in the middle of December and much quieter. So I do understand if the staff are busier, more flustered, etc. However, this is still a luxury ryokan and my... More

Very nice modern-style Japanese spa resort ryokan with private tube at the balcony. The public spa (on-sen) at the basement of the hotel comprises a number of hot springs of different temp and minerals. The public spa is also great. We stayed in a Japanese style suite with in door onset.... should try the one with an outdoor private onsen... More

This is one of my favorite ryokan to stay. The room, public space, garden are so stylish- perfect mixture of traditional Japanese style and minimalistic modern style. Ther are only 30 rooms so they know you by faces and names. We never nneded to say our room number nor names. They have 2 beautiful Onsen-hot spring; one on the ground... More

This is the only hotspring hotel we have stayed in Noboribetsu but it is a great one. The moment you step into the hotel you got nothing but great service. The hotel staffs help you with your parking, luggage, shoes and guided you to your room after some tea and snacks. The room is big and with a great view... More

The service is immaculate. The food, prepared by the 60+ years old chef, who has been working in Takinoya without interruptions since he was 14, is amazing. Definitely the nicest place in Nboribetsu. The bar (both the bartender and the selection) are not good at all, but this is a minor inconvenience, compared to the fantastic atmosphere. The lounge has... More

The hotel is just excellent in any aspect! It maybe true that the room rate is expensive (especially when the exchange rate of yen is high), but I bet you would say it is value for for money! During my 10 days of stay in Hokkaido, I had the best meal in this hotel (not even in the fish market).... More

Takinoya belongs to the luxury ryokan collection, from where we made our room reservation. This being not our first experience at such a luxurious onsen ryokan, I could give a more objective review of Takinoya - and it still came out stellar. Located in the famous onsen area of Noboribetsu in Southern Hokkaido, Takinoya is easy to locate when driving... More

We stayed 2 nights here in 2 different rooms. The first one was a standard Japanese-style room and the second one was a suite with a private outdoor onsen. The second room was double the price of the first room. Of course all the guests were free to using the communal onsens. There are 2 onsen areas, one on the... More
