Wonderful setting and views from the room which was clean and comfortable. Easy drive to town centre and restuarants. Very close to movie flats which is worth the short drive to get some spectacular pictures of the mountains and Mount Whitney. Agree previous comments that the breakfast room is a little crowded but it is included in the price. Only... more

Stayed her for two nights while exploring around the Alabama hills the onwards to Death Valley. The hotel is right on the main road to LA and Death Valley exactly 1 mile South of Lone Pine. Our room was quite dark and had no balcony unlike the majority of the other rooms. A balcony would have made the stay just... more

After climbing Mt Whitney and a night of camping, my husband and I were especially looking forward to our stay in a hotel. Upon checking in, I had to listen to the guy at the front desk have a lengthily personal telephone conversation with his boss. Since we were "the last ones to check in," we didn't get the room... more

Room was clean and accommodating for my stay there (one night only, on my way to Yosemite Park). Balcony view was nice, and although the backyard area was small, the view of the mountains was excellent. At night I could see some furry creatures running around as well as flying creatures lol. Overall a nice stay with a very friendly... more

1st time day hiking to the top of Whitney and the plan was to be on the Trail at 4am - so breakfast at 3AM ... the staff was very kind to open the Breakfast room 3 hours earlier and even on our departure the following morning it was opened again an hour before. From the pool you have a... more

This hotel is 100 miles from Death Valley and down the way from Yosemite. The hotel has nothing special to commend it. Everything worked and it was reasonably comfortable. A pit stop on the way to Death Valley, but in retrospect, I might have arranged to "do" Death Valley from the Nevada side. more

We stayed for one night in July 2009. The hotel room was very clean and with good facilities, but for some reason was the most expensive of all the places we stayed in during our 3 week stay. The front desk lady was very pleasant and helpful, coming around to hold the door open as we went through with our... more

We visited USA West during Sept 2008. We were coming from Yosemite Park and via Bodie Ghost Town and Monolake we had planned a stop at Lone Pine, before hitting the road to Death Valley. It is good hotel, a bit outside the small town of Lone Pine. Don't expect major activities overthere, but who cares. The hotel has spacious... more

I checked the reviews of this Comfort Inn prior to making a reservation. Some of the reviews gave me pause due to complaints listed by others. I went ahead and made the reservation since my top choice, Best Western (where I had stayed on a previous trip), was sold out. My wife and I had a good experience and would... more

Our party of 5 checked-in for an overnight stay in august, on our way from Yosemite to Vegas vis Death Valley. The research I did found out this was supposed to be one of the safest bets around. May be it is, I am not really sure. It is located out of town, quite at the crossroads to Death Valley.... more
