Like many people we stopped off in Lone Pine for one night - we were on the way from Yosemite going to Las Vegas. Checking in we were told that the rooms were very basic so we knew what to expect. My husband and I were headed to Mammoth and decided to leave a day early. We impulsively picked Lone Pine and chose the Dow Villa Motel for something like $50. Located in centre of town. Stayed in motel bit. Rooms clean,roomy and comfortable. Swimming pool/jacuzzi very relaxing, free internet. Try Jakes Saloon, or Alabmaha cafe for great food. more

They say they offer internet, but I'm not so sure. They kept saying they were trying to get it fixed. Other than that it was an ok stay. I was traveling with my dog and it was good for that. more

We stayed here one night as a stopover between Yosemite and Death Valley. Room was great (we were in the newer bit) - spacious enough for 5 people and very clean. We were very pleasently surprised. Great motel. Has two parts. The hotel part which has a lot of history with the film industry (many westerns were made in lone pine and many including john Wayne stayed here) and the newer motel side. I stayed in the hotel part and they were very clear on their website that the rooms were older than the motel part.... more
