Friendly staff, clean rooms, quiet street {I know, in Hollywood, who would believe it!} and easy access to everywhere you could possibly want to go. I loved my stay at the Orange Drive Manor. I took a bunk in one of the dorms. After reading several reviews I took a chance and checked it out. The staff let me have... more

We stayed at this hostel towards the end of your round the world trip and initially were pleasantly surprised... until we tried to sleep! The hostel is fairly nice, the rooms were fine and the bathrooms were small but ok. The kitchen was well equipped, small but normally empty and the TV lounge was tiny, only sitting maybe 5 people... more

I must say that my expectations were exceeded based on what I had read about from other reviews. The location is excellent. You are right off Hollywood Blvd, near all the transportation. The people that run the hostel have made many changes. Instead of finding the lobby as described, I found it completely redone. They put new carpeting throughout the... more

Where do I start!!!This place seemed like a nice place to stay all until one night, when I innocently went to make a phonecall on the payphone downstairs when the owner, an old woman aged about 200 fiendishly came at me from the back and tried to force me into a box, repeatedly shouting "get in the box" at me.At this... more

I read alot of reviews for this hostel before making up my mind, and I even tried to book at USA Hostels instead, but they only take people from out of the country, or at least they would not book me in. I also tried to find a place to stay with friends of friends and even tried couchsurfing.com. But... more

Having read the reviews for this hostel we were a little sceptical about what we were going to find. However, we had a great experience. We stayed here in a double room for a week in late November. The room was on the second floor and was light and spacious. Bathroom facilities were simple but clean enough and the place... more

This place looks nice from outside, but step on in and prepare to hold your breath, it stinks like urine all the way through. I had a private room, I had booked for almost a week, around $70 a night, and prepaid. They have a no refund policy, and after two nights (sleepless cause it was so disgusting) I checked... more

A BED-BUG WEEKEND EXPERIENCE.......I stayed here for a weekend 19-21Sept 08 and probably had about 5 hours sleep in total. The room with a double bed felt like a jail cell. The bed spread & pillows were dark in colour and a little 'unpredictable' These tiny nifty blood sucking bed bugs kept me up and out of sleep basically the... more

I've stayed in dozens of hostels, and this kitchen was probably the dirtiest I ever saw. It was also tiny and in a dark basement. No one spends time in the kitchen or other common areas in this hostel. It is absolutely anti-social and gloomy. Staff has no personality and it is very depressing and boring to stay there, not... more

a brilliant location right next to garman's chinese theatre and the walk of fame. the staff were v helpful and friendly, Hostel was clean and was an old house which was unusual. only bad thing was that we could only pay by credit card when a particular member of staff was around and had to use our dollars which was... more
