Like a lot of other reviewers said, the beds are a bit firm but didn't really bother me at all. The rooms are OK, clean and have everything you need. You can tell that the hotel was built a while ago. It has that carpet, brass and mirrors everywhere vibe. One thing we struggled with was the wi-fi. It's patchy... more
Was there for only one night but the experience was definitely worth returning. The lobby is huge and beautiful with the bar just beyond check-in. There is a boutique, restaurant and nightclub for those looking to shop, eat and party. Room are nicely moderate, though on the small side. Appreciated the japanese decor and the price. more
I made a reservation approximately 2 weeks prior to my business trip to Los Angeles. I received an e-mail confirmation prior to my arrival. When I arrived at the hotel at 6:30pm there was a huge line of angry customers. When I was finally able to speak with a front desk agent I was advised that they had over-booked the... more
When I arrived, it was obvious that the previous occupant had just left and that the cleaning staff did not pay attention to the details. Floor dirty. No Fiji drinking awater available. Soap and shampoo from previous occupant still open and in the bathub. more
first of all, front desk stated rooms were over booked they tried to book us at a hotel in Pasadena ! we had a retirement engagement at the Kyoto hotel, my room i was promised never was booked for me ? i requested a room with city view upper floors 12-16 none were offered to me, my room was small... more

It took repeated calls to get the engineer to respond (the front desk then comped one night of parking to apologize for the delays). We were then moved to a... more
Front desk staff were rude, wait staff in restaurant were rude, reservation was not accurate upon arrival and were forced to pay for breakfast even though rate was an online "best available rate with breakfast." more
I stayed at the Kyoto Grand for a conference that was at the LA Convention Center, and it was quite nice. It wasn't terribly convienant for that conference, but since the conference provided a shittle, it wasnt a big deal. It was nice to be in Little Tokyo, and the food nearby was quite good. The Kyoto provided coupons for free... more
I paid $169.00 for a Deluxe King Room. This is about $120.00 less than other suitable hotels in the area. I have stayed a couple of times at this property before (when it went under a different name) and had always thought that it needed a rennovation. Fortunately the new ownership has heeded my silent advice. The room was spacious,... more
