Our trip to Long Beach was for my boyfriends' birthday. I had planned on the Queen Mary, the Murder Mystery dinner cruise and a nice romantic room. Well, while the other two were successful, the hotel was not. I originally booked our stay at The Varden which I was very excited about. However, when I was telling my boyfriend's mom... more

We had excellent time in this hotel. It has everything one wish to have in hotel at that price. Right from jacuzzi to Restaurant. The rooms are very good and big with coffee maker and iron box etc. Staff are very friendly and helpful. They have all the facilities you ask for be it in hotel or outside. I loved... more

This place should not have the Holiday Inn Name! This hotel is very dirty. Carpets, wear shoes only. Rooms are terrible. Should have warning signs before entering. Sleesie element inside and out more

My room was ready when I arrived about 4pm. Check in was quick and the deskman was very cordial. My corner room had a king size be that was comfortable. The room was large with an adequate bathroom area. It would have been good for 2 people. Though the hotel was full due to most of the patrons staying pre... more

This is a nice hotel in a bad location. We stayed one night pre-cruise. Check in was fine. The clerk spoke very poor English, but was friendly and got his point across. We signed up for the shuttle to the cruise ship the next morning. It was $5 per person, billed to the room. Rooms were large and decorated to... more

I have just read the last two very negative reviews and I was amazed. There were also many other negative reviews prior to our decision to book this hotel. However, we only wanted a one night stay prior to our cruise and the two preferred hotels by others were more than double the price. We arrived from our overseas flight... more

DANGEROUS IN AN EMERGENCY, poorly run and Lack of staff. The electricity went out in the middle of the night and in the morning NO ONE helped guests in the hallways or stairways. Not a staff member to be seen to help find the stairs or get down them to the lobby. No flashlights available. We had to drag our... more

This hotel is a dangerous dive. First of all, it's in a dangerous part of LA. The parking lot is on the first floor, and is not enclosed, nor is it guarded. If you leave anything valuable showing, it will be stolen. A nice group of people that were talked into leaving their cars their for a cruise (at a... more

This four storey Holiday Inn looks to be about 100 years old... charming. Actually it is only about 20 but was built in Victorian style and is furnished with antiques. Good Price for stopeover. ($95)I liked the hot tub and pool on an upper patio... clean and nice view. The neighbourhood is a little noisy but we walked the 5... more
