We spent 2 nights and loved it. The location can't be beat as you are overlooking the ocean and it is only a short walk to downtown. It is very peaceful and restful. The gardens are gorgeous. We stayed at this fantastic B & B -- even though we basically do not enjoy B & Bs. But, these individual cottages with private deck and your own fireplace (which was necessary even in July!) were wonderful. Very comfortable kingsize bed with lots of fluffy pillows. GREAT breakfast. I have stayed in a few places in Mendocino, and Agate Cove has the most picturesque view of the Pacific-- the roaring waves in the cave, the fishing boats, the pink evening sky- fantastic. Agate Cove is a pleasant property in many ways. The biggest downside for us was the strong perfume smell in the room, which came from various sources -- scented fabric softener on the sheets and blankets, evidently "room freshener"-type sprays, and a potpourri.
