We've stayed at Alegria many times over the years, and always love being there. The location is great for us. We enjoy being able to walk down to the beach directly from our cabin. We like being able to walk to the great bookstore in town, or all the way out to the bluffs. We love the breakfasts. Elaine and... More

Picture a cozy cottage with a deck out to the sea! Views from the bed, the chairs and even from the small shower, of the sea! Brilliant! Comfy bed. Lovely woodstove fireplace. Excellent breakfasts. Great coffee and teas, lemon bars, cookies too:). Elaine and Eric are the thoughtful hosts and they must treat their staff well as the pride of... More

The prices in general in this area of California are very high.So the Alegria looks almost reasonable in comparison. It had great views from the Pacific suite which we stayed in for 2 nights. We also stayed over the barn and we liked that room better, although it had no view. The Alegria is very well located for walking around... More

A late check in was not a problem. The lovely Toni was welcoming & happy to help us settle in even though it was after 7pm. The rooms were quiet & cozy and the breakfast basket delivered to our door lovely. The location at the end of Main Street made it easy to walk to dinner & the town is... More

This is the third visit for us this year and we love it here. We stayed in the Pacific suite....WOW. ocean view. Huge. Cutest cozy spaces. Even a dressing nook for me. Sitting on our littlr deck drinking wine looking at the full moon...it does not get much better than this. Cannot wait to return.

Secluded location right there at the edge of town. Stayed in the Sea Breeze Room, one of only two rooms in the main house, breakfast room downstairs. Quiet with a view of the ocean. Breakfast (both mornings) was outstanding! They pride themselves on featuring local fresh ingredients. In the top 10 we've stayed over the years. We'll be back!

We booked a room at Alegria's sister Raku Inn right across Main Street in Mendicino at last minute. The room was spacious, the bed was comfy, and blueberry muffins and coffee delivered to the room. Weather was outstanding and Mendocino was it's usual wonderful spot on California coast.

Wow, didn't think it was be so close and easy to walk to town. Stayed in Cove cottage, and upon seeing the inside my wife said "Honey you did good." Could walk to town, come back for break and then walk back. Felt like I was in the country as it seemed secluded. As you would expect from a really... More

Our repeat stay at the Alegria Inn was as magical as before. It's a very charming place with cute cottages and gorgeous landscaping. This inn has a fantastic location in town and it's so easy to walk to fabulous restaurants. Be ready to experience Mendocino as a food town with pretty restaurants offering gourmet meals with local ingredients. The Alegria... More

We called en route to inquire about a room in the Alegria Inn, which was full, but we were offered a room in The Raku House across the street. We were also offered a late check in deal, which made our minds up for us. We were very comfortable in the upstairs spacious accommodations, could have slept 4 people. Toni... More
