Even though I am not a fan of B&Bs we seem to return to this wonderful Inn for special occasions. There are several spacious accommodations separate from the main bldg. and we have our favorite. From the minute that you arrive, it is like visiting family or old friends. Needless to say, the breakfasts are fabulous, whether indoors or on... more

All the charm of old Mendocino in an updated historical home. Lovely grounds. Some rooms have ocean views. The owners and staff are wonderfully hospitable and the breakfast was delicious. Be sure to stay here on your next Mendocino visit. Wendy more

We had a wonderful time as a "first timer" at the Joshua Grindle Inn. We had the opportunity to stay in the Lupe Suite which is a house a block or so down the street from the main building. As many previous guests has mentioned, the best part of this B&B isn't the rooms themself, but the little personal touches... more

Thank you for making us aware of the hot water and power issues. A systems upgrade is now in the works! Charles

As much as I want it all to myself, I would reccomend a stay at this Inn to anyone - the property deserves all the business that comes thier way. The Innkeeper made well-rounded recomendations for my boyfriend and I (both first-timers in Mendocino) and provided lovely breakfasts for two tough customers. The room (Tower I) was clean and comfortable,... more

We loved the inn - so relaxing. We had the Lupe's Suite in the little house down the hill from the main inn, but it was beautiful and quiet and had a great bathroom. We did run out of hot water one day but it wasn't the inn's fault - there was a problem with the water heater which was... more

I usually find B&B's to be a mixed experience, often too precious to be comfortable, too self-conscious to be charming, but there was no mix here: it was all comfort and charm in a way that felt just right. Owners Charles and Cindy, and manager Lindsey, are hospitable and accommodating in every way, and our room (the entire inn) has... more

My experience the first time was great, and this past weekend was just as good. Everything that you would need is provided and the rooms are totally cozy, plush, and clean. The JGI creates an excellent retreat and a romantic getaway. The rooms are totally comfortable, very private, elegent, cozy and simple, yet almost luxurious. The service is fantastic when... more

My husband and I stayed at this B&B for a long weekend getaway. Although this is not the most luxurious inn we have ever stayed at, it is one of our absolute favorites. The owners are warm, charming, and attentive without being overbearing. They have that sixth sense of knowing when to approach guests, and knowing when to allow privacy.... more

I was so burned out from working so much that I just wanted a relaxing get away but not to far away from where I live (San Francisco). Joshua Grindle Inn was the perfect place. I felt so taking care of by Charles and all of the staff. I stayed in the North Cypress room with the most wonderful whirlpool... more

My wife and I spent saturday night in this place for the whale festival, even though we were not lucky this time to see the whales but the stay was pleasant. My wife usually is very fussy about the clean/tidyness, but she was very pleased with the condition, and I am very pleased with the cottage style guest house since... more
