Given the hotel's location (near a main route and a busy railway) we were impressed how quiet it was - certainly none of us heard any passing traffic during the night. Hotel facilities were up to Best Western's normal good standards, staff were friendly and helpful and rooms well decorated and spacious. Fast food dining of all types are available... more

We stopped in Mojave beause it was a halfway point for our days travel. It was convienently located on the main strip through town. The rates were fair so we decided to stay. The room was excellent! All new furnishing and flat screen TV! Very comfortable! The staff was very Wonderful! They serve a hot breakfast in the morning which... more

We needed a hotel to stay in on our way to Death Valley. Mojave was the largest city for where we wanted to stay. We checked in at night with no problems. We certainly got to see why it is called the Desert Winds. The rooms were nice, although our room had no phone in it, which we thought was... more

From the front desk to the housekeeping staff, everyone here seems to care. Room was pleasant and very clean. Lots of additional information about the area and maps all supplied. All in all a very well run establishment. more

Stayed here on our trip from PHX to PDX. Now that the freeway by-passes this town there's not much traffic on the Bus-58 loop. Mojave is a favorite stop for us as we don't usually want to push to get to Bakersfield and it's cheaper than Tehachapi. This was our first stay at this hotel and we found it on... more

Business at Edwards Air Force Base brought us to the Mojave area for a 3 night stay at this Best Western ($80.00 per night w/ AAA discount). The outside of the property looks very old. We had some reservations about what we might be in store for. We were very pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the room, the modern... more

The Desert Winds motel in Mojave, Ca is a good stop. The motel is clean, the desk clerk pleasant, and the little town itself is easy to drive to from Highway 58. It is within walking distance to fast food or sit down restaurants and there are nearby gas stations that are cheaper than Barstow or other desert towns nearby.... more

I spent a night at the Best Western Desert Sands on route from Williams, AZ to Sacramento, CA. I chose this hotel because I normally stay at Best Westerns. There are not too many hotels that look nice in Mojave. The woman at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful when I called earlier that day to make a... more

What can I say, it's best western. We were here on route from Yosemite to Las Vegas. Denny's next door for dinner. Not much else in Mojave! My only complaint was no wireless internet, you needed a cable and of course they did not have any cables to lend out. That sucked. I will pay more attention next time and... more

We stayed just the one night, en route to Death Valley from Yosemite as the roads over the mountains were closed because of snow. Although the room was good sized, such that it had 2 armchairs, this was possibly the worst night's rest we have ever had in a hotel. The sound proofing in the rooms is non-existant and, as... more
