We had two rooms for two nights, but one night was bad enough. We left even though we couldn't get a refund for the next night. One thing about Monterey hotels, nothing is cheap. So what would be cheap outside of the city is pricy here, what is really nice here is really expensive, there is no in-between! The plumbing was bad. The ceiling above our shower was on the verge of bursting open because a drain pipe from the shower above us was leaking badly. This hotel was awful especially for the outrageous price we paid to stay. The staff is rude and not customer oriented. I would have been better off staying at a Motel 6. I loved the Otter Inn. The location, the staff, everything. Location is fantastic, a quick walk to The Aquarium, restaurants and local attractions. The rooms were clean and large. New tiles in the bathroom and new furniture in the rooms. The staff was helpful, informative and attentive. I would stay again! more
