Booked a couple rooms for family. Once we arrived they made it overly clear at check in that there would be a $50 extra charge for this or that, things like getting the towels too dirty, leaving the place to messy, finding any hints of smoke (which was fine being we don't smoke). I made two reservations for this hotel. One for me and one for my sister. I cancelled both rooms 7-10 days before my scheduled stay. They cancelled one room and charged me for one room. They have refused to give me a refund because I don't have my cancellation number any more. I really learned a lesson here, always call... more

El Rancho Inn is very clean and the staff is very friendly. Overall we liked the motel as we were not there to do Morro Bay but rather to visit the wineries in Paso. Had we been there to explore Morro Bay it would have been somewhat difficult as Highway 1 blocks the motel from the coast even though it... more

The best part of our stay at this motel was the friendly staff. The room was over priced and very small. Several repairs were needed to the room. On our last days stay, the room was not entirely equipped with supplies and was not cleaned very well, so we had to go to the office and ask for the rest... more

We are non-smokers..and we forgot to ask for non-smoking room. What a mistake. The room reeked of smoke! We should have asked to change. Otherwise, the front desk staff was incredibly friendly. There is a very convenient laundry area on site. One funny thing..we saw someone the next morning standing outside a non-smoking room smoking..kinda ironic... more

THis is a one-story motel that is shaped like a U encircling the parking lot. From the parking lot you have a view of the bay, but not from your room because you'll want to keep your curtains closed. Morro Bay is a nice place to visit--not yet gentrified like Cambria, yet not far from the wonderful wineries of Paso... more
