I wasn't sure what to expect, having seen some of the other reviews, but my fiance and I found this place to be very welcoming and with accommodating staff. The common area has spacious seating and a fireplace, and the onsite restaurant currently serves free spaghetti and salad on Tuesdays! (Note: The balsamic vinaigrette and spaghetti sauce were so good... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at the lodge from 4-6-13 to 4-9-13. This was my first time in Shasta. The room was cold, the blinds were very shear, there was no blanket on the bed, just sheets and a comforter. We did request a blanket. We wanted to go to the continental breakfast but when we got there the food... More

We stayed at this terrific place in Mt. Shasta city where the employees were very attentive and the manager went out of his way to make us happy! The room was clean and cozy...and very spacious! The atmosphere was perfect, real woodsy just what we love and expect from a place like Mt. Shasta!!! We stayed here years ago and... More

We had been here many times before, but not in the past several years...what a change! Hard to find someone to help us at the desk and when she did appear, she was most disinterested and bland. Also, she seemed unsure of what to do and disappeared from time to time, before we selected a room (one we had had... More

We stayed here while we were working the Mt. Shasta & Weed communities. The rooms were clean and sufficient and well kept. Make sure you find Nick as he is a great person and fantastic ambassador to the hotel. He well enlighten and make your stay memorable to say the least. Make sure you kiss the bear :)

Our first impression when we walked into the lobby of this Lodge was that it looked nice. Albeit dated and Rustic... we liked the woodsy feel to it. We were kindly greeted and taken care of by a nice man at the front desk. We chose a 2 bdrm lodge that had 2 full bathrooms, sofa sleeper and a full... More

We saw a deal for The Woodsman on groupon and decided to spend a couple of days there with my husband and son. The motel was perfectly located. That was the nicest thing about the place. The rooms were very outdated and not that clean. The beds were uncomfortable and the walls were paper thin. The restaurant was dark and... More

I bought a Groupon thinking this will be a romantic 3-nights cozy up @ the Fireplace shown on the picture. NOT, the first night they had a busted pipe so the restaurant was closed, for the entire stay, I never saw the restaurant opened. When we checked in, we were given the key to the first room which is adjacent... More

The Woodsman is probably the worst place I have ever stayed.... ]It is incredibly old, not ever updated. The room did not appear to be dirty, but I wanted out as quckly as possible....absolutely no lighting in the room but one little bulb in the ceiling.. We had prepaid or I would have left the minute I got to the... More

I stayed here with my family on the way to Ashland OR. A nice place, great atmosphere, plenty of dining options nearby. Be sure to check out the lodge! I have to say, it's not the Ritz, as it's run by a family and is not corporate. Hopefully, if you stay in a place like this you are not looking... More
