I travelled up to Mt. Shasta for a conference and could not have stayed at a more charming place. I was greeted by a warm, friendly and generous concierge named, Deborah, and she not only offered wonderful accomodations (a clean, comfortable room with a great bed, plasma flat screen t.v, wonderful bath tub, cozy heating...) , but walking into the... more

My fiancee and I recently stayed here for three nights. The manager, Debbie, and staff were friendly and helpful. We just bought land out by Weed and decided to do some shopping around for a hotel that we will visit during the construction of our home. After visiting more than a few locations around the area, we landed here. We... more

What a great place to get away too, and only a few hours from where I live. The views, the hotel, and the service was superb. And Ms. Hoshell was an awesome asset to my stay. I can't wait to come back. more

My Fiance' and I stayed at the Woodsman a few times with our travels from Oregon to Cali. We loved it so much we decided to get married there. The staff was very helpful in our stay and always made us feel comfortable. The rooms are always excellent. The surroundings are breathtaking. Meeting the owner, we can see why the... more

The rustic look was perfect for the location. I found management to be helpful, friendly and curteous. The "continental" breakfast was much more than expected. more

We stayed here over Labor Day weekend on a last minute reservation. Reading some of the older reviews I was a bit nervous. The place looks great on the inside and totally renovated. There was some discrepancy on what we were charged that never got resolved, so keep close watch on the billing. Breakfast across the street was odd, but... more

New owners have done a fantastic job with renovations and new staff, so don't believe older reviews. From the outside, this hotel and the Strawberry Inn (across the street) are THE places to stay (and they share a free breakfast room). Has a "national park lodge" feel, with the smell of cedar in the air. The lobby is complete with... more

-The Front Desk person was nice, but knew nothing about the Mt., vortex's, legends, the main attraction of Mt. Shasta. -Nice, simple room, but there were smells on the duvet cover, windows in room didn't appear to open. -One hanger, refrig not turned on, outside mat and surrounding area, filthy with mud. -Parking lot closed due to just being resurfaced.... more

This place renminds me of the cabin in the movie "The Great Outdoors", I come up to the area to trout fish and it is the only place a true sports man feels at home. more

My father and I were up in Shasta to summit the mountain. When we first arrived to town, we stayed down the road at a horrible place -- I think it was called A1 motor lodge. On the way back and forth into downtown shasta we kept passing the Woodsman, and it just looked like a wonderful place to stay.... more
