I’ve stayed in this motel two or three times over the past five years. If you’re staying in the Mountain View area, and you’re on a limited budget, your choices are very limited. This is a very high-priced location in the Silicon Valley area. The Tropicana Best Western offers a reasonable compromise of quality and price. Speaking of price, expect to spend approximately $100 for a room here. This hotel faces the main busy street (El Camino Real). By all means request a quiet room in the back, which faces a residential area, and the best rooms have a loft ceiling for a more spacious feeling. There are very few of these rooms, though.

This is a motel, but it does have a secured hallway (rooms on the second floor are more secure). However, on one visit someone did break the lock on the second floor stairway.
