Dunbar House is so wonderful. We come back here every year for our anniversary, and can't imagine spending our anniversary anywhere else. Rich, Arline and their staff are always gracious and welcoming. We have stayed in each room and find them all equally intimate and cozy. The attention to detail throughout the house is amazing, and the gardens are spectacular... more

We picked this out of the select registry since it was relatively close to where we live. It was a birthday celebration for my wife and we honestly did not expect it to measure up to our favorite B & B in Monterey. However, on arrival we were awestruck by the beauty of the garden and all the flowers and... more

We had a most enjoyable stay. Lovely grounds, an easy walk to everything in Murphys, wonderful breakfasts, and countless little things that made it memorable: appetizer plate, cookies, wine, snacks, free internet, and even a car window cleaning station. Highly recommended. We stayed in the Cedar room, with its enclosed porch and private patio. more

This B&B is a beautiful old farmhouse, well-maintained, full of antiques and interesting features on gorgeous grounds. It's right in town with convenient parking. The breakfasts are unique and delicious. Hors d'oeuvres and a bottle of local wine are provided with each room. The hosts are friendly and very knowledgeable of the town, restaurants, local skiing and wineries. more

I had stayed at this B&B over a year ago. It charmed me so much I had to go back again. I loved it just as much as the first time! The innkeepers are delightful, the breakfast to die for and the accommodations are great----still trying to find the same pillows! The town of Murphy's is just down the street... more

Not worth the price! 03/20/08 The breakfast and housekeeping staff were excellent. They served a creative breakfast which was very tasty and different from your ordinary continental breakfast. In the past we have stayed at other bed and breakfast inns where the innkeepers couldn't do enough to make your stay comfortable. The innkeepers of the Dunbar House were hardly ever... more

Murphy's is a little town in the Sierra Foothills that is perfect for a weekend getaway. The Calavaras redwoods are just up the road, with nice little towns for shopping along the way. Further up the road is a ski area. There are many foothill wineries around Murphys, including the beautiful Ironstone property. The one road town has a number... more

We enjoyed our stay at the Dunbar House. We commend the inn keepers for their tremendous attention to detail. Within our room, I enjoyed the numerous and varied selection of magazines, all the interesting pieces of decor in the room, the soap in the hot tob bath and even the sponge. The daily snacks are interesting as well - cheese,... more
