We arrived in the middle of the night and our room door was totally open, the floor was sticky and found 3 spiders in the room. My wife and I enjoyed a two night stay. Pine Rose has a rustic, down home feel to it. We were very comfortable in unit # 10 and enjoyed sitting on the porch outside our room. A deer came close to joining us. Anita was very hospitable and served up two delicious breakfasts. more

We liked the Pine Rose Inn. I can see that booking online might be an issue; we had a chance to choose rooms when we got there (we had no reservations anywhere and found the Pine Rose in our GPS). My vacation experience was enhanced by this quaint and charming place. I found no musty smell, no dirt and plenty of atmosphere. The jaccuzzi was in the middle of a large bathroom and was large enough for two people. Furnishings were older but clean and the staff was responsive to my requests. This place is what got me started in reading reviews and I wish I had started before going here! Stayed in the Bass Lake room which was just ok, it smelled musty and old. The shower was dingy and just opened into the room and was very cold, switched to the Sugar Pine room which was once again a letdown.... more
