We stayed at the Bates House Bed & Breakfast in a lovely part of Oakland, California a block away from Lake Merritt. Joseph Ware is the delightful owner/innkeeper, who does a wonderful job. The 100 year old mansion has 4 different rooms that are all tastefully appointed with antiques, etc. We stayed in the large Master bedroom, which has an... more
